Kara and Daniel were grilling some chickens which I assumed were stolen when I noticed Luke sitting on a bench far from us all.It was probably a good time to tell him that I was sorry.I slowly moved towards him,struggling hard against the strong wind which was pushing me back.Finally when I arrived behind him,I cleared my throat and threw myself next to him.
"What do you want?"He said without looking at me while smoke was coming out of his mouth.This was when I noticed the cigarette between his fingers.
"I'm sorry!"I exclaimed and he pursed his lips,still not looking at me.I must have had really hurted him when I kind of insulted his upbringing or simply he had a very big ego.
"I'm sorry."I repeated."I did not know that your mother went through a lot to grow you up.I was a fool and I never think before speaking.I am very sorry.Please forgive me!"I said giving him my wonderful apologetical face.
His eyes went wet but he pressed his teeth together to suppress the tears.I gently laid my hand on his left hand which was pressed against the bench while his other hand was busy holding the cigarette.To my surprise,he did not take his hand away but his fingers did flinch.
I sighed in defeat and got up.I was about to move away when he gripped my wrist and caused my head to flip to his direction.
"Won't you wait till I forgive you?"He said staring blankly at me.
"Does that mean that you 'will' forgive me?"I said,a faint smile making its way on my face.
"On one condition!"He exclaimed and I grinned.He freed my wrist.
"What?"I asked enthusiastically.
"You and I did not have a good start.Let's do it again but in a better way!"He proposed looking sweetly at me and I chuckled.I could not believe that it was Luke who was saying that,the Luke who used to stare angrily at me and talk grumpily to me.
"Okay!"I said smiling.I cleared my throat and prompted forward my hand. "Hi!I'm Lisa Tran!"
He took my hand and shaked it formally."Nice to meet you miss Lisa Tran.I'm Luke!"
Luke.....???
I rose my eyebrow and he quickly understood my expression.
"I don't have another name.Just Luke!"He said his voice filled with sadness.
"Okay nice to meet you too mister Just Luke!"I said jokingly and he smirked.Then he winked at me and I almost melted.
"Lisa!Luke!Come and eat!"Daniel shouted and we moved together to the others.I noticed that Luke threw his cigarette away just before we got up.
"I hope you were not flirting with my girlfriend!"Nick winked at me before glaring at Luke who sat down and bit in a piece of grilled chicken.
"Shut up!I told you we're twins!"
He pouted and everyone chuckled.I took a piece of chicken and sat down on a bench to eat.It was indeed so delicious that I could not resist moaning at the tender flesh melting in my mouth.Kara,Jessie and Anna soon joined me on the bench while Nick and Daniel sat next to Luke.
There was about one metre seperating our bench from that of the boys but we were face to face and my heart would flutter each time Luke would look at me and smiled.I was happy that everything was sort out between us and that now when he would look at me,it would not scare the shit of me.
