"OI! Watch it!"
"S-sorry mem. I deedn't see you zere." The heavily accented, timid voice of Pavel Checkov squeaked back. I rolled out from under the panel i was working on.
"Sorry Pavel, I'm just frazzled is all lad. Been workin' on this panel all bloody mornin'. Some numb skull SPILLED THEIR SCOTCH ON IT!" Pavel chuckled as I shouted over my shoulder.
"I said I'm sorry Megan, but it was Keenser's fault!" Scotty shouted back. I rolled my eyes and scoffed.
"Honestly, I've known the bugger since the two of us were just wee little things and he hasn't changed at all. His mother's got a hell of a lot to answer for." I gave a hearty laugh and Pavel nodded knowingly.
"I should be going, ze Keptin vants me on ze bridge immediately." I nodded and he left, leaving me to fix Scotty's mess

"And done." I announced as I stood over my work, satisfied with its quality.
"Well, it took ya long enough." I turned around glared at Scotty but, as usual, I got caught up in his beautiful hazle eyes. We have been friends since we were children back in Scotland, but I have always wanted to be more than that. "I'm just kidding ya lass. I really am sorry for spilling scotch on it though."
"Weeeelllll. I guess I can forgive ya this time Monty." I said, using my nickname for him. He only ever let me use his first name.
"Ah, yer an angle, ya know that?" He asked while pulling me into a side hug. I smiled and leaned my head against his shoulder, my arms around his middle. "To make it up to ya I'll share some of that scotch, if you'd like." He smiled warmly down at me and I returned the gesture along with a curt nod.
"That would be nice. Just not around any equipment." He playfully rolled his eyes and led us away from engineering and to his quarters, his arm still securely around my shoulders.

After a couple rounds of scotch Scotty and I were most definitely 'off' to say the least.
"Ye know, I haven't got any idea what happened to me! I look at you and I still see that beautiful green eyed, auburn haired girl with a smile brighter than the stars. Ye look at me and you've got an aged, worn out man, who's face has more stress lines than the galaxy 'as stars." Scotty slurred. He had gently traced my features and ran his fingers through my hair when he talked about me.
"Are ye kiddin? You are still the same handsome, bright eyed, smart arse you were back in Scotland." He gave a goofy grin and shook his head lightly, slinging his arm across my shoulders.
"I've got a wee confession to make." He said with much seriousness and I nodded lightly at him, staring right into his eyes. "Ever since we were young I loved ya, and not just as a friend or as a sister. W-will ye be my lass Megan?"
"Yes" he leaned in and gently pressed his lips against mine in a passionate kiss. His hands rested on my waist and mine on his shoulders. I was vaguely aware of the taste of scotch on his lips.
"I love ye Megan." He breathed out as he pulled away and pulled me back so we were lying down on his bed.
"I love ye too Monty." And we both drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.

Scotty's POVI woke up late into the morning the next day with Megan curled up against my chest. Her hair splayed out behind her head as if the wind was blowing it about. Suddenly memories of yesterday came flooding back to me and a wide smile spread across my face.
"My lass." I mumbled softly and planted a kiss atop her head. Finally I had made that girl mine.
