"Fascinating..." I breathed out as I walked around the botany deck, examining all the beautiful plants. I gently ran my fingers over the soft, blue petals of a flourishing bush and gasped at its surprisingly velvety texture.

"Beautiful, isn't it" I jumped at the sound of someone's voice behind me and turned to face them. There stood a handsome man with jet black hair and warm, gentle brown eyes. He had an Asian look to him and his slightly tilted eyes gave him an even more attractive quality. "Didn't mean to scare you, love. I'm Hikaru Sulu." 'Strange, that name sounds familiar' He put his hand out for me to shake but when I tried to shake it he brought my hand up to his face and gently kissed my knuckles.

"I'm Jessica Carl." I stuttered out as a deep blush overcame my cheeks. He smiled mischievously and dropped my hand.

"Here, I'll show you my favorite." He said, grabbing my hand and pulling me along behind him. "Ta da!" He gestured grandly at a plain white flower with four petals.

"This one? Why out of all these did you chose this one? If I may ask?" He gave me a small half smile and placed his hands on my shoulders, moving me to stand directly in front of it.

"Sing." He stated and stood beside me.

"What? What do you mean 'sing'?" I asked with a chuckle.

"Just sing something. You'll see what I mean." I looked at him skeptically but searched my brain for a song.

"The only ground I ever owned
Was sticking to my shoes
Now I look at my front porch, at that panoramic view
I could sit and watch the fields fill up
With rays of golden sun
Or watch the moon lay on the fences
Like that's where it was hung.

My blessings aren't infront of me
It's not about the land
I'll never beat the view
Of my front porch looking in.

I gaped at the flower as it's petals changed color slowly and stopped at purple.

"And I thought the flower was beautiful..." he muttered and I blushed, looking away from him. "Oh, look. You're changing color too." I giggled and he gave me the cutest grin. Suddenly I realized why his name sounded familiar.

"I thought your name sounded familiar! You're the guy who left the parking brake on!" His cheeks became slightly red and he groaned, rolling his eyes.

"I'm never gonna live that down, am I!?!?" I laughed and he smiled the most charming smile. "Say, uh Jessica? W-would you like to have dinner with me sometime?" I had to fight the urge to scream and jump up and down in joy.

"Yeah, I'd love to."

"Until then, m'lady." Bowed dramatically and kissed my knuckles once more then left, leaving me standing there blushing and giggling. Wow, I ought to come here more often.
