Chapter 7: Ready, Set, Go

Travis POV

Pinagkakaisahan talaga ako ng pamilya at mga kaibigan ko. Who would have thought na papanig silang lahat kay Bianca. What is so special about her at lahat kinakampihan siya. Is it because matalino siya? I can be smart if I want to.

The truth is I am not against doing the play but I really want to annoy her. I don't know why but it was fun annoying her. She makes so much expression in a span of a minute kagaya noong natapunan ko siya ng tubig. She is shock but at the same time angry, you can also sense the annoyance in her words and sarcasm. And this afternoon my eyes suddenly roam in the cafeteria looking for her which is strange. She is the perfect pet for me. She can be my entertainment. I'm such a kid I know. But I promise myself that I will mess up with her like how she mess my shirt the other day. What is so wrong is extracting a little revenge.

I watch as she put on her harness. My Mom and Dad are also busy preparing the balloons.

"Ready Guys! I need you to be in your own base." sigaw ng Daddy ko. He explained the rules and regulation as well as the penalty that we can get if in case he find out that we are cheating.

The Rules are as follows:

1. NO Cheating. Yes, primary rule ni Daddy ang no cheating. He also applies this in his personal life. This is probably the reason why our business are successful.

2. Don't let the enemies balloon reach your cushion base. Each Team has 100 water balloons The task is to throw them in the enemies base without bursting it. There is a cushion that will support them.

3. You can use whatever available in the room as a weapon in bursting them mid-air. My father prepare some sticks and bats.

4. You can only hold 1 weapon at a time. Anyone who's seen holding more will have 30% of its point given to the other team.

5. The person who successfully transfer most of its balloon (intact) to the enemy will be the winner.

"The game will be easily decided if we play a 4 vs 1 so let's make it more interesting. Shall we?" announced by my father.

We are all ears to whatever he will say. I saw my Mom chuckle beside my Dad. Ano na naman kaya ang binabalak ng magulang ko.

"Bianca will be on Travis Team." sabi ni Mommy.

"Nooooo!" magkasabay naming sabi ni Bianca.

"Hep! Hep! Pakinggan niyo muna ang sasabihin ng Daddy mo."dugtong ni Mommy.

"Bianca will be on Travis Team and their goal is to win. But there is still another condition, kung sino sa kanila ang may madaming points ang magwawagi. Pointing system have 2 components - 5 pt kapag nakaburst ka ng enemy balloon at 10 pts kung makashoot ka sa cushion nila." explain ng daddy ko.

"Edi hahayaan nila si Bianca makashoot at ang mga hinahagis ko lang ang puputukin nila."reklamo ko.

"That is why I will put a black barrier in between para hindi nila malaman kung sino ang naghagis ng balloon. Team A (Arthur, Jared & Cherry) can give a hint if they throw a balloon but Team B (Travis & Bianca) can't give any. You can't give your location to them. If you do so, the point you gained will be taken from you and be put to the other person. This will be a battle between you and Bianca and we are mere spectators."

"What if they win?"

"Hmmmnnnn I didn't think about that. Guys, are you okay na magcommute si TJ for 2 weeks if you win this game?"tanong ng Daddy.

"Sounds fair"sagot naman ng mga ito.

"I want him to help me do my shopping."sagot naman ng ate ko.

"Okay. So your sanction is that you will help your sister do her shopping and will commute for the next two weeks."

"And if I win?"sabi ko.

"I will buy the tires that you are dreaming for your wheels and the boys will help you with your survey forms."sabi nito.

Lumukso ang puso ko sa narinig.

"Agree?"confirm nito.

"Yeah. I guess so."sabi ko. I don't mind battling with her. I am confident na mananalo ako.

"Okay. All set. Bianca, go to Travis base. Badong and Rudy pakilagay na ang black board sa gitna. Cita, Corazon at Mila kayo ang second eye namin. You will hold a camera and record everything para walang dayaang mangyayari."

"Ready team!"sigaw ni Mommy.

"Get ready in 10 seconds. 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 Go!"

And the game begins.
