Chapter 9: Help

Bianca's POV

"You're kidding right?"

"I am serious."

"But you don't like me."

"And so do you. We hate each other that is why it's perfect."

"I can't deceive people. I am not an actress."

"I've seen you during practice and I think you are. Hindi palang na te-test."

"Why would I agree."

"Because you don't have a choice."

"Yes, i do."

"I don't think so honey. I've talk to all the cast in the play including those who buy the tickets. If you don't agree today, they will return all the tickets by the end of the day."

"You're lying."sabi ko sabay lingon kay Jared. What I saw dreaded me to death.

"How could you? This is blackmail." Sabi ko na medyo naluluha. Kawawa naman ang mga batang beneficiary ng project na iyon. The proceeds will be a big help for their medication.

"It's not like I'll kill you are something. It was just a date. We won't even tell the people at the party that we are going out. No need to be lovey-dovey as well." Pag e-explain nito.

Nagsalubong ulit ang kilay ko due to confusion.

"Look, my sister is throwing a very big party for her birthday. And I need to bring a girl para hindi niya ako i partner kung kani-kaninong babae na mahagip ng mata niya. She is crazy. I will also pay for all preparation like make up and the stuff." sabi nito.

" Arthur and Jared will also be there. I can invite your best friend too if that will make you comfortable."

"So basically you just need a guardian that will oversee you?"

"Correction. Not a guardian but a companion."

"So why do you need to blackmail me for a menial thing like that?"

He was stunned. I know he is because I can see it in his face.

"To make you agree."

"You could have asked."

" I did and you reject."

"Because you threaten to ruin the play. Think of all the children who will be affected. Next time you should just ask nicely and avoid doing all those unnecessary things."

"But..."

"No more buts. I am not heartless."

"But you just push me a while ago."

"Coz you're entering my personal space. You need to respect a person's space."

"What the heck! I am just helping you to stand up."

E sa nabigla ako. Ugok ba ito. Ka-pulgada nalang layo ng mukha niya. Siyempre magpapanic ako.

"Bat ba nangingi-alam ka? Reflex ang tawag doon. Defense mechanism dahil puro kalokohan pinaggagagawa mo magmula pa noong nakalipas na linggo."

"That's what you call spontaneousity. Hindi sa lahat ng bagay dapat nakaplano. Paano mo ma e-enjoy ang bawat sandali kung puro ka plano."

"Kaya mo pinagsuot ng wig ung cast?"

"Yeah, it was fun. They all look dumb." Sabi nito sabay tawa.

Yeah, it was funny but hindi ko i-admit iyon sa kanya.

"You are just delaying the practice. That is why I don't like you. You keep on doing whatever you want to do and don't mind kung nakakaabala kana." Reklamo ko but at the back of my mind I know that I don't really mean what I said. It just flow in my mouth.

"Do you need to reiterate the word 'don't like'?"

"Yes. So ano na? Will you ask nicely?"

"Fine. Could you please help me next Saturday by accompanying me to a party?" Sabi nito sabay smile with matching puppy dog eyes.  Ang gwapo ng mokong nakakainis.

"I will agree under certain conditions. 1.) All of us should be present. "

"Sinabi ko na kanina na kasama nga sila including your best friend."

"2.) If someone ask you if I am your girlfriend you need to say "NO"."

"Wala akong balak na ideklara ka as girlfriend ko. You're the last woman I will like. You're way and beyond not my type."

"Point taken. Wag kang madaming kinukuda at baka magbago ang isip ko. 3.) I will wear anything I want and you wouldn't buy me anything."

"I could afford it besides I don't think you have any."saad nito sabay tingin sa akin mula ulo hanggang paa.

"Leave all the clothes and make up to me. I can lend her any of my wardrobe." Sagot ng best friend ko.

"See. I have the resources."

"What's the difference kung manggagaling sakin?"

"I don't like it. 4.) You will ask my Mom's permission first."

"That's easy."

"At paanong naging easy?"

"Just leave it to me."

"Fine. 5.) You will pick us up sa bahay ni Mhy but after the party you need to bring us home safely. Well, any of you will do basta makauwi kami ng maayos."

"Anymore conditions?" Sabi nito.

"Meron pa. Wag kang atat. 6.) No drinking of alcohol. You can't ask me to drink anything."

"I can't promise that. It was a party."

"By rule of court I am still a minor."

"Fine, anything else?"

"Lastly, 7.) No intimate contact. No kisses or whatever."

"I can still hold your hand right. That is required."

"Yeah, yeah, i don't mind."

"Perfect. Thank you".

TJ and I were busy discussing all those conditions at hindi namin alam na pinag uusapan na pala kami ng mga kasama namin sa likod.

"You know what? Para sa mga taong ayaw sa isa't isa, sila itong madaling magkasundo sa mga bagay bagay." Ani Arthur.

"Well, they might not notice it yet pero madami silang pagkakapareho. I think they are compatible." Dagdag ni Mhy.
