A Lost Soul

*Papyrus's P.O.V*

I grab Alphys by the arms tightly.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO (Y/N)?"

"Oh? Is that her name? Why do you care so much for her anyways? She's just a human."

I squeeze it tighter.

"DON'T AVOID THE SUBJECT!!"

"Alright, alright! I'll tell you! She's a lost soul now. She has no memory of her past life. She doesn't even remember who you are. She'll only think about herself as a wolf. She won't remember being human. Haha. I doubt you'll even get her to remember."

I released her arms and pushed her to the side. I run over to where the river person was and asked:

"HAVE YOU SEEN A SMALL WOLF WITH RED EYES?"

"A small wolf? ..........yes...yes, I have."

"TAKE ME TO IT."

*Your P.O.V*

The river was too strong. I was struggling to breath. The water has suddenly turned colder. I see an ice block come towards me and climb on it. I see more coming this way. I have to be careful not to slip. I jump from block to block until I lost my footing and slip.

"Ngh!"

I pull myself back up and feel a numb pain on my side. I have to get to the surface. I jump on a few more blocks until I finally make it on land. The snow crunches between my toes and it was cold. I shake the remaining water away from my fur. I can feel myself shaking from the bitter cold. Where is this place? I look around cautiously and slip. I begin to breath heavily and look at my side. I have a large cut there from when I was jumping on the ice blocks.

I force myself to stand. I can't stay here. Other creatures or monsters might want to hurt me. Blood starts to drip in the snow as I keep walking. I need time to rest, or this wound will get worse in the cold. I as stumbling and my footings were getting messed up. I fall next to a tree and squeeze my eyes shut from the pain and breathe heavily. It's getting worse. I can't stand up anymore. I hear footsteps coming over to where I was.

I open my eyes to see that same tall skeleton again. I growl and tired to stand, only to fall again. His face turns gentle and he shows me his hand. He says in a gentle voice:

"There's nothing to be afraid of."

I growl and bite his hand as hard as I could. He doesn't look fazed at all.

"See?"

I stop growling and release his hand. My ear flatten as I lick where I bit him.

"You were just a little scared."

He seems to understand me too. He picks me up gently and starts to carry me. We reach a somewhat familiar house. Why does this look so familiar? He opens the door and closes it quietly behind him. He sets me down on the couch. I can hear snoring from the room above. That started to trigger something in my mind, but I don't know what. The tall skeleton comes back with a tub of warm water and a warm towel.

He picks me up and starts t put me in the water. I struggled for  bit, but after getting used to the heat I settled down. My ears perk at how warm it was and then they flatten as I rest my head on the edge of the tub. The warmth was bringing sleep over me and I close my eyes. By the time I woke up, I was in his lap as he was drying me. He seems to be a nice person. He takes out a brush and begins to brush my fur down. It almost felt like a massage. He starts to speak:

"THERE ONCE WAS A GIRL I KNEW........"

A girl? Did she live here too?

"SHE CAN BE A RECKLESS IDIOT, BUT SHE WAS A FRIEND."

A childhood friend? Why is he telling me this story anyways?

"SHE FELL DOWN HERE ONE DAY AND WE MET, BUT IT WAS DIFFERENT. WE WEREN'T THE SAME LITTLE CHILDREN WE ONCE WERE BEFORE."

Something starts to spark in my mind. I know this skeleton, but it's at the tip of my tongue. Who is he?

"HER NAME WAS (Y/N)."

That's the name he was shouting at me in that dark place earlier. Is he referring to me?

"EVEN IF SHE WAS AN IDIOT, I STILL CARED FOR HER. THERE WOULD BE TIGHT FEELINGS IN MY HEART. EVERYTIME SHE SMILES, IT MAKES ME FEEL "FUZZY" ON THE INSIDE."

My head starts to pound and hurt. I squeeze my eyes shut.

"I GUESS I REALLY LIKE HER."

My ears shot upward and my eyes were wide open. Papyrus...... his name is Papyrus.

A black mists surrounds my body and swirls around me. My paws turn to hands and feet, my ears and fur disappear, and I start to grow larger. The black mist disperse and I sat there on Papyrus's lap. His face had the look of surprise and relief. I remember now.

"Papyrus?"

He pulls me towards him. One arm around my back and the other holding the back of my head. He mumbles:

"TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH......"

I slowly wrap my arms around him. I got my memories back. We both pull away from the hug and I pull my hood down further. I can feel my face heat up. Why? It's because I was sitting on his lap. This is so embarrassing. I went to get off, but Papyrus pulls my hood towards him. Our lips meet and my face just exploded.

"I LOVE YOU (Y/N)."

I can feel millions of butterflies in my stomach. I close my eyes and wrap my arms around him. I don't know what took over me, but I can tell you one thing. This was the same little skeleton that I loved in my childhood.

"I love you too."
