This is in Annie's point of view.
"Alright Lady Tigers! Let's get this thing started! All we have to do to beat the Peter's County Rams is work our butts off, every last second of this game! If you feel like giving up just think about how half of our seniors will never touch a volleyball again. I don't care if your tired or hurting we have come way to far for any of that! Just push through to the end for everybody! Does anybody else have anything to say?" The room went silent.
My brain was in game mode but my heart was in Matthew mode. I already miss him. I shake it off.
"Then let's break and get warmed up!" The whole team joins in as we scream, "Lipton... Pump it up, pump it up... County... Get hyped, get hyped... The what the what the best the best Lipton county tigers! WHAT!"
We ran out of the locker room and started warming up. It was almost time to play. I want to leave my seniors with an undefeated season.
I scan the crowds waiting to get in the stands to see who all is here and my jaw drops.
It's Matthew! I told him to go but it's kinda bad that I'm saying this but I'm glad he's here. I just look over to where he is standing with Lucas like he promised he would.
"Snap out of it, Williams!" I heard Coach Tiff scream from the other side of the gym. I shook it off and started warming up.
I stretched my pretty much everything and then paired up with Claire and started hitting the ball to warm up. When we were all nice and warm it was time for everyone to start getting into the stands. Brooke ran over to the radio and started playing "Can't stop the feeling" by Justin Timberlake. And we started dancing as hard as we could to finish out warming up and have some fun. We always have to do this to get pumped to win our games and so far this season its worked.
Then the Rams walked out of there locker room they were just too confident to be here. They didn't know what was coming for them. We started getting into our positions. I play outside, since I'm the strongest hitter on our team.
The Rams served first since they were away from home. They served we returned and that went on until on of their players tripped and missed the ball. Now we served. The game seemed endless.
Now it was the final 5 minutes of the game, the score was Tigers 4 and Rams 3. All we needed was 1 more point to win. It was their turn to serve. The ball whooshed over the net Sophie passed it to Brooke and Brooke set it to me. I approached the ball like normal, jumped up and the ball went over, but as I came down
I missed my foot and landed dead on the side of my knee with an extremely loud crack.
