"AH!"
"Gah!" Wendy and Natsu cried out as they were, literally, kicked into a cell. Lucy, Happy, and Charle were no where to been seen. Spirit watched the duo as fell to the ground, though Natsu instantly got up and ran towards herself and Hughes."Bastards! Where is everyone else?!" Just as he was about to ran out, the cells bars slammed close in his face.
"Everyone else?" Hughes questioned, tilting his head a bit.
"Lucy, Charle and Happy!!" Wendy specified.
"Lucy. . ." He hummed. "Oh that girl." He looked down at Spirit, who stared at Wendy, not moving.
"Spirit, you know what might happen, since your Erza's apprentice, right?" Spirit shook her head and quickly snapped out of her daze. She looked at Hughes, eyes flickering between him and the prisoners.
"Well, as Erza putted it, We don't have any use for her. She'll most likely be executed." Natsu slamming his face against the bars made her stop talking and jump a bit.
"You bastards lay one finger on Lucy and I'll turn all of you to ash ." He threatened darkly. To be honest, Spirit thought he looked like. . .a dragon.
She quickly dismissed the thought. "Oh, I'm shaking in fear!" Hughes replied sarcastically. "Geez, are all Earthland magic users this scary?" He turned towards Spirit. "No offence, Spirit."
"None taken."
"Why only Lucy. . .What happened to Happy and Charle!" Wendy shouted, glancing at Spirit form her spot. There eyes meet, which Spirit instantly looked away. It was as if she was guilty.
"You mean the exceeds?"
"Don't call them that!" Natsu growled, gripping the bars tighter. Spirit narrowed her eyes at the pink haired boy.
"That's what they are, so get use to it!" She snapped, fed up of the mages obliviousness.
"Since they've accomplish their mission, the exceeds have been returned to there native land. They're probably getting rewarded and stuffing their faces right about now." Hughes explained, not really caring how he sounded. Spirit quickly jabbed him in the side with her elbow."Accomplish their mission?!" Wendy quoted, thinking back. Her eyes widen in shock. "That can't be! I don't know what their mission was about but Charle said she abandon it."
"Nope! They completed it."
"What. . .What is it? The mission Charle and Happy had to accomplish?" Wendy asked, a bit unsteady. She wanted to know, yet at the same time, she didn't.
"Haven't you realized it yet?" Hughed replied snarkly. "What we really wanted was you. Descendants of dragons! The dragon's magical energy." He cackled, making Spirit look at him in slight confusion. She hasn't heard a lot about this part, really. She guessed because she was a dragon slayer as well. They probably didn't want to scare her. The questioned that popped up and ran around in her mind was; Why haven't they done the same to her?
Hughes laughter shimmered down to a chuckle. "Alright, Spirit, lets go. Maybe we can hit up your favorite snack bar before I go to the big meeting." He yawned a bit at the 'meeting' part. "Lucky, you don't have to go." Spirit smirked a bit.
"Yeah, that's old men stuff." She giggled, turning to walk away.
"Wait!" Both stopped and turned to see Wendy at the bars now. "Spirit. . .Why?" She whispered, eyes full of sadness. Spirit sighed, clearly irratated, before looking at Hughes.
"You can wait outside for me. I'll be there in a bit." The purple-and-white male shrugged and walked off, guards following. Spirit turned towards the bluenette, eyes hard now.
"'Why' what?" Her voice changed a bit, harder as well. Wendy gulped a bit before continuing."Why. . .Why did you lead us up there? Was it your plan all along? Do you. . .Do you even care about me?" Her voice died off as she clutched the now glowing necklace. This action didn't go unnoticed from Spirit.
She laughed sarcastically, a horrible laugh in her older sister's opinion. Not caring if Natsu listened, she spat back harshly. "Why? Why she asked! I am Erza Knightwalker's apprentice, a part of the Royal Guard, and the Storm Bender. I hunt fairies for a living and do as I'm ordered! Yet, you ask me why I betrayed you?"
By now, Spirit was stalking the small space, ranting harshly. "I was abandoned by my two dragons! All I had was you and Mystogen while I was ill! Then, one day, I was abandoned by you as well! How do you think I felt?!" She glared at Wendy, who leaned on the railing.
"S-Spirit. . .That's not true!" She retorted softly, unable to say anything higher than that.
"Bullshit! " Spirit cursed, punching the wall. A few loose stones fell at the contact, making a small noise. Wendy jumped a bit at the sudden action. "You didn't even notice the difference between me and that. . .that. . .that ghost! If you did, you would've noticed my eyes were blue, not brown, that I am ten - almost eleven - not just turning nine!" She breathe deeply and walked over to her so called sister.
