[20] Holy darkness got a hold on me

     Kat watched with slight irritation as yellow beams and strings disappeared into the Anima. But underneath the show for the others, there was panic and deep sadness. She sighed at the sight of the chaos that laid before her. If she had a choice, she would have never done this. 

     Of course, she understood why Jellal was taking magic away from his kingdom but she didn't like how everyone was going to pay. No, she didn't like how her own kind, the exceeds, were going to pay. Honestly, she could care less about the humans but she wanted her people safe. Even then, she didn't know where they were so she couldn't say if they were safe or not. 
      Then there was Jellal and Pantherlily. As of now, they were arguing who should be the prince, which she thought was a pretty obvious choice already. Jellal was the next heir to the throne, in human terms, so he should be the prince. It had gotten tense in their, so the pink exceed decided to get some air, watch chaos unfold. Maybe she could go get some ice-cream. . .
      Kat jumped a bit when a line of buildings fell, fire spreading. What the hell? She thought, leaning forward a bit, as if she was going to fall off the railing she was sitting on. She was short, so what?
      A couple soldiers suddenly ran towards he railing, leaning over as well. They must have seen the explosion as well. Completely ignoring the exceeds presence, they started their own converstations. 
         "What the hell is happening?!" 

         "I don't know, but now most of the lacrima's aren't working!" 
         "Go get PantherLily!" With a nod, the chubby solider ran off to fine the buff exceed. Kat watched, actually quiet amused with the chubby man running before speaking.
          "I could've told you were he went." The three other soldiers jumped in surprise before looking at the Princess -well, ex-princess now, I guess. 

          "Princess Katania?!"
          "Did you do something with your freakish powers?!" 

          "Stop this at once!"
        Kat snorted, turning her head back towards the chaos. "As if I would do this. Besides, my power is not sucking magic out of this world, it's reading  pathetic minds like yours'." All three men blinked slowly before their gazes harden. 
           "Who you calling pathetic?!" 
           "Who else?" She scoffed as another couple buildings were destroyed. "What is going on out there?!" 
            "Can't you see?" One solider scoffed. 

            "No, no I can't." Her green eyes glanced at them at the corner of her eyes. "Can you?"
            "Of course, who can't?!" 
         She reached her paw out, gesturing with her fingers to hand his hand over. "Give me your hand."
            "What?! No way!"
            "Just do it! Or are you scared-y cat?"
         The solider sweatdropped, as well as everyone else there. Reluctantly, he held the small exceeds' paw. As soon as Kat saw what the males were seeing, she started laughing. Kat was laughing so hard, she had to let go of the guy's hand and cover her stomach. 
             "O-Oh! This is rich!!" She snickered, tears gathering at the corners of her eyes. She felt three new people join the group on the balcony, most likely Jellal, Pantherlily, and the chubby solider that got them. 
             "How many insurgents?!" Pantherlily asked, leaning on the railing next to Kat. He glanced at her with a raised eyebrow but didn't comment. 
             "Four."
             "Just Four?!" He barked. "Why haven't you arrested them yet?" 
         At this, Kat stopped laughing, taking deep breathes to calm herself. Another building collapsed and the four  were within their line of sight now. 
             "Th. . .They're very strong, sir."
         A evil cackle followed the statement, making Lily's eyes widen. 
             "I am called the Great Demon Lord Dragneel! I'll be helping myself to all of this world's magical power!!"
              "Natsu. . ." Jellal breathed out. He stalked forward, gripping the rail
              "Wha. . ."
         Kat turned towards the human prince and ex-fallen exceed, a certain sparkle in her eyes. "Well, isn't this a shocking turn of events."
