Chapter 14

Jena POV

We're all sitting around the camp fire thinking about the people we lost. Ed I don't really care if he died but I liked Jim, he was a good man. Tomorrow we will bury them and burn the walkers.

I'm sitting between Rick and Daryl. I feel like I should thank him for saving my life and all. So, I get up and everybody looks at me waiting to see what I do. I go to Daryl and wrap my arms around him. He flinches at first but then hugs back surprisingly. I release him and sit back down beside him. Everyone looks shocked because 1. I hugged Daryl
2. He didn't pull away and yell at me.

"Thank you for saving me back there" I say in a whisper so only he could hear.

He just nods. I'm honestly surprised that he didn't pull back and yell at me. This isn't the world for it but I think I'm starting to like Daryl Dixon.

#Time skip to Morning#

Me and the women are at the quarry washing clothes while the men have a discussion about where to go.

"Hey last night why did you hug Daryl" Lori asked being the nosey person she is.

"He saved me last night so I wanted to thank him"I say while blushing a little bit.

"I'm surprised he didn't yell at you" Andrea says.

"Yeah Daryl isn't really the emotional type" Carol says.

"Yeah I'm as surprised as yal are"I say trying to end the subject.

We finished the clothes and started doing our own thing. We got called into a meeting. They said we were going to the CDC. That's fine with me, as long as we don't stay here any longer.

I started packing my things up. I go to open the tent and run into something hard. I look up and see Daryl.

"Oh hey Daryl. You need something" I ask.

" Oh yea uh I was gonna go hunting one last time and wanted to see if you wanted to go with"he said scratching the back of his neck nervously.

"Oh uh sure, let me get my bow"I say and run over to the rv where my bow is.

I run back over to Daryl. He ask if I'm ready and I say yes. We start towards the woods when Glenn steps in front of me.

"Where are you going" He ask.

"Daryl and I are gonna go hunt before we leave. You know so we can have some food for the road." I say.

"Oh okay be careful" He says while kissing my cheek.

#Time skip#

Daryl has 3 rabbits and 7 squirrels. I have 2 rabbits and 4 squirrels. Daryl always sees them first.

"Hey so what's up with you and Glenn"he ask.

"Watcha mean" I ask.

"Yal dating. Your always around 'im and he kissed you. Just figured yal were dating" He says.

Well I'm shocked.

"No we're just friends. I don't like Glenn like that" I say getting a little pissed because he is medaling.

"You sure" He ask.

"Yes DARYL. Why do you care any way" I say.

"Jus' do" He says.

I just grunt and walk ahead of him. We end up back at camp. Everyone is loading up vehicles.

"We're leaving" Rick says.

"Okay" I say and walk toward the rv.

"Hey can I ride with yal"I ask Dale.

"Sorry kiddo it's already full. Me, Andrea, Amy, Jaquia, and Glenn are in here." He says.

"Oh well where will i ride"  I ask.

"Well Rick has him, Lori, Carl, Carol, and Sophia so you can ride with Shane or Daryl"he says.

"Ok Ill ride with Daryl" I say and walk towards Daryls truck.

"Hey Daryl can I ride with you. The only person who has room is Shane and personally he scares me"I say.

"Ya sure" He says.
