Cas flopped down on the couch, burying his face in a pillow, and let out a muffled shout of frustration.

Looking up from the book he was reading, Sam raised his eyebrows. "You okay, Cas?"

Cas mumbled something incoherently.

"Listen, man, I can't help you while you're throwing a tantrum."

Huffing under his breath, Cas sat up and crossed his arms. "It is not of import, Sam."

"Oh, really?" Sam set the book aside. "Why don't you tell me so I can decide that for myself."

Cas glanced at Sam hesitantly. Finally, he gave in, running a hand through his dark hair. "I believe my vessel is malfunctioning. I've tried repairing it, but nothing seems to be working. By all accounts it appears to be perfectly healthy. I don't understand why it's behaving this way."

"What do you mean?"

"Well...it's hard to explain..." Cas's face reddened. He put his face in his hands. "Whenever I'm around Dean, my vessel's heart rate speeds up noticeably, and its face grows very warm—I believe that's called a...a fever? But if it were, I'd be able to heal it, wouldn't I?"

Sam couldn't control his grin. "Cas! You're not sick, you idiot, you have a crush."

"A crush?"

"Exactly. You're in love. You've met 'the one'. Put simply, you've got the hots for Dean. So why don't you tell him?"

Cas looked deeply troubled. "But what if he dislikes my affections? It could seriously damage our relationship."

"Oh, don't kid yourself, Dean's head over heels for you. You've just got to man up and tell him."

"But how?"

Sam just grinned, pulled out his laptop, and googled "cheesy pickup lines for guys".

Dean was driving to the store to pick up some beers when Castiel unexpectedly appeared in the seat beside him. Startled, he lost the wheel, nearly sending them into a ditch before he regained control. "Dammit Cas."

"I apologize, Dean. That was my fault."

Dean glanced over at the angel. Cas's face was bright red. "You feeling okay, Cas? You look kind of funny."

"Well...um...are you Daniel? Because damn," said Cas, blushing furiously.

Dean stared at Cas, his mouth agape. "W-what?"

"I'm learning about important dates in history, wanna be one of them?"

"Cas, what the hell is—"

"Can a borrow a kiss? I promise I'll give it back."

Dean's face flushed scarlet. "Cas—"

"I've got skittles in my mouth. Wanna taste the rainbow?"

At that, Dean halted the car. "Okay, that's it, Cas," he said, hiding his blushing face behind his hand. "What's this all about?"

"Am I confusing you?" Another thought occurred to Cas. "Should I try some more pickup lines?"

"No—Cas. No." Without warning, Dean leaned forward and kiss Cas, gentle and tentative. Cas saw in his eyes that Dean immediately regretted it. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't..."

Cas kissed Dean back. This kiss was different, passionate, impulsive. "Let's commit the perfect crime," he whispered. "I'll steal your heart. And you'll steal mine."
