Sam woke Gabe up with a kiss on the cheek. "Mornin' sunshine," he said under his breath, smiling as he climbed out of bed and went to get dressed. It was a beautiful morning, still cold outside but the snow had finally gone. Valentine's Day.

It took Gabriel a little while to get up—he really wasn't a morning person. Finally, though, he appeared in the kitchen and breathed in deeply. "My, my, my," he said. "I smell pancakes. Samsquatch, you have outdone yourself."

Sam snorted, grinning at his boyfriend. "Hush."

"You know I love you, right, Samwich?"

"I love you too, Gabe."

They left the bunker that evening—which wasn't easy, since they had to nab the Impala in order to get away, and Dean ended up chasing them halfway down the road before finally shouting "Son of a bitch!" and giving up. Sam and Gabe laughed until their sides hurt. They both knew Dean would get his revenge on them for kidnapping Baby later. For now, it was just the two of them. They drove until they reached a lake, where they stopped the car and got out to walk along the beach.

"It's nice here," said Sam. "Quiet. This life—it's too noisy." He glanced over at Gabe and frowned. The archangel was biting his lip; his hands were behind his back. "You okay?"

"W-what?"

"You seem nervous." Growing serious, Sam said, "What's going on?"

"No, no, nothing's wrong." Gabe sighed. "I don't know, Samantha. Maybe I am scared. I - I love you. I know that. I just...I don't know...how to say it."

Sam smiled, grasping Gabe's shoulders and pulling him close. He gazed down into his archangel's whiskey-brown eyes. "You just did."

"You don't understand. I..." Gabriel stood on tiptoe and kissed Sam softly on the lips. Then he pulled away. "I love you. I really, really love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you – and I mean it. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, Gigantor, and I..." He sighed and sank to one knee, pulling out a box from his pocket, head bowed. Then he opened it, revealing a plain golden band. He looked up with eyes full of hope. "Sam? Will you marry me?"

Sam was stunned. Completely and utterly shell shocked. He just stood there for a second, unable to process. Then he whispered, "Gabriel, I...I'm flattered, and this is so, so sweet, but...this is a mistake."

Gabriel's whole expression dropped. The color drained from his face.

Sam grinned. "Because I'm in love with you too, Gabe, and someday you're going to regret this because now you're stuck with me for the rest of your life."

It took a second for what Sam was saying to sink in. Gabe took a deep breath, standing and hugging his hunter tightly. "You scared me to death, moose," he muttered. "I guess I deserved it. Payback for all those Tuesdays, I'm assuming."

"Well I am marrying the Trickster, aren't I?" Sam said with a laugh. "I'm going to have to keep up."

Then they climbed back into the Impala and did the no-pants dance. The end.
