We won. That's all that was running through my head at this second, well besides the fact that Annabeth's hand was in mine but that's not the point. We had won, actually won and survived too. Well almost all of us, we still didn't know about Leo's whereabouts, I just hope he's okay.

We were on our way to my house, to my mom, Sally. The "we" being Annabeth and I. By the time we pulled up into the parking lot I was literally bouncing up and down in my seat.

"Are you ready?" Annabeth asked me as we stood in front of the apartment door. I just nodded while smiling.

When we knocked we heard a faint "coming," followed by someone opening the door. It was Paul who opened it and he looked like he had just been crying.

His eyes were red and puffy and he looked like he hadn't slept in days.

"Paul?" I asked.

"I think you should come in and sit down."

We made our way in and onto the couch.

"Where's mom?" I ask not being able to hold it in much longer. What if she's hurt or what if she got kidnapped again? All these thoughts fly through my head in seconds.

"She had a heartattack," he whispers as a new stream of tears flows down is cheeks.

That's when I freeze. How could she have just died? Especially not before I got to say goodbye one last time.

I hear Annabeth trying to calm me down by whispering encouraging words in my ear but I can't understand what she's saying because she's crying now to. Sally had been like a mother to her just like to me.

I wrap my arms around her and we cry away the pain together.

I'm so sorry for this horrible update! I didn't edit it so there's probably lots of mistakes but I'm posting it now because I'm taking some important tests for the next week or so and I want to focus on studying. Also please comment and vote💕😘
