Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, reader (if anyone still reads this book). How are those who have been blessed with another day?
If you haven't prayed your salah, please, I beg you to go pray. Even if you haven't prayed in ages or you've lost a connection with the Most merciful. Just drop down to your knees and open your heart to the Controller of All Hearts.
Now, this topic is one that I could talk about for ages so I think I'm gonna have to split it up into parts. I've already spoken about sujood in this book so go read it if you wanna know more.
As we know Salah is the first thing that will be asked about of Judgement day. Now with this in mind let's get reading :)
Okay, firstly, I want you guys to think about the last time you had kushoo (concentration) in your salah. How did it make you feel? And then compare this to the last time you prayed just because you have to...without no emotion connected to your salah. And then ask yourself were there any factors that decreased/increased your level of kushoo.
Ever wondered about the strategic timings of Salah. These are of great importance to understand the reason why we pray Salah. Think about it this way...in order to strengthen your relationship with someone you must be willing to put time and effort into the relationship, right? And that includes spending quality time with them and regularly keeping contact. Therefore, the way we strengthen our relationship with Allah is by being attentive to and in our Salah. That's where kushoo comes in...the longer you spend perfecting your wudhu (ablution) and the more focused you are in Salah, the better the quality of your Salah.
So before Salah, you must make wudhu and have the intention to pray but then after Salah..do you just leave it at that until your next Salah? As I mentioned before, spending quality time in any relationship is important...do you forget loved ones during the day? The answer is no..so why do that with The Creator? There are adhkars (remembrance of Allah) to do after Salah and during the day in order to remember Allah. And you may question what is the importance of this but..in the Qur'an Allah refers to His remembrance numerous times in ayahs such as 'Oh you who believe, make abundant remembrance of Allah * and in another verse 'indeed with the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.** "Our Prophet (saw) also told us: "He who remembers his Lord and he who does not are like the living and the dead." *** From these ayah and this Hadith we can interpret the importance of remembrance of Allah.
Additionally, Salah is an obligatory act in all circumstances for those who are a Muslim, sane (not intoxicated), pure (having washed oneself during wudhu), having reached puberty, and having the correct intentions are all prequisites for Salah. A hadith Narrated 'Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) I had piles, so I asked the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) about the prayer. He said, "Pray while standing and if you can't, pray while sitting and if you cannot do even that, then pray lying on your side." (Bukhari). This just reiterates the importance of Salah.
I know I may not have covered all the parts on Salah. In Sha Allah, I will edit this soon just to add more stuff but for now...may this be beneficial.
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu :)
May you all be blessed with happiness in this world and the next.
Till next time
