Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu my dear brothers and sisters. Today I wanted to tell you guys about Shaitans worst enemy. We all know the Shaitan wants us to fail at the purpose of pleasing Allah. And Shaitan comes in all different forms. Now hope and fear are two emotions that Shaitan HATES when used in the right context.
For example when someone commits a sin or just prior to actually doing the sin they think of Allah and feel a fear as they remember the verse "And Allah is severe in punishment". That thought is enough to deter them from committing the sin. So they give it up for the sake of not displeasing the One who is the Seer of all things.
Some people regret it after they've committed the sin. This is where hope comes in because we all hope Allah will forgive us. And to seek His forgiveness, which has NO limits, we repent. And repentance is not just saying Allah forgive me. As far as I'm aware and correct me if I'm wrong, the best way to repent is immediately after you do the sin and feel guilty you go make wudhu carefully with the intention of seeking Allahs mercy. Now you've made your wudhu the next step is to pray two raka'ah sunnah sincerely feeling the regret and the intention to never commit the sin again. Whether you do repeat the sin or not, that's a different matter entirely. Everytime you sin, go repent. Now one thing I'm not too sure about is whether you pray this two raka'ah sunnah for every sin you wish to repent from or if it is only for the major sins.
You've prayed your two raka'ah. Shaitans goal is to now make you doubt your repentance. He does this in the most evil of his ways. For example, if you want to do a good deed for the sake of Allah he can make you doubt yourself. At times, he makes you believe that your repentance for the previous sin was not to be accepted. And other times, he whispers what's the point of doing good if you've already done bad. This is where hope falls in.
You hope to get a reward for your struggles. And only Allah knows how much someone struggles. So, my struggle may seem easy in the eyes of some but I struggle...which is why you should never judge someone when they come asking for help for a problem. Allah measures you by your intentions, right? And your intention is to seek a reward from Allah no matter how easy or difficult the task....you will reap it's fruits in Jannah in Sha Allah.
This hope for the reward of Jannah is what motivates you to pick yourself up after committing sin. And they also help one in eradicating the whisper of Shaitan. One way to strengthen yourself against Shaitan is to continuously read/hear the words of Allah in His Qur'an. Be close to the Qur'an.
May Allah give us the strength to fight the evil of Shaitan, an accursed enemy. Try hard not to fall in the traps of his. He already has his destination promised but he wants to drag you down with him recieving an eternal punishment because you decided to let him win. You never know when your time might come to depart this troublesome world so don't delay repenting. There are so many people out there who are buried six feet under wishing that they made one last sujood of forgiveness to Allah. Don't be amongst those who regret the time that you wasted moping around, regretting your sin but doing nothing about it. Don't lose hope in the power of Du'a because Allah is the All-hearing. And He is aware of all that you do.
