"How do you know where we're going?" Roy whispered
"Well it's not hard to follow our footsteps" I replied dryly. Roy didn't reply and we continued to run silently through the forest. The sun was just beginning to rise in the East, casting a orange glow throughout the forest.
"Roy, over here" I called quietly. He turned his attention to where I was and we quickly got into our tents to grab the our equipment.
"Stop where you are" A voice commanded us. We froze and confusion was apparent on my face
"How could he see us?"
"Your magic is good. But it can't fool magical creatures like me"
Magical creatures? I thought he was normal?
"What do you mean magical creatures" I asked hesitantly.
"Exactly as I said, we're not normal human beings. Why do you think we follow Damien around so much? Because he makes us stronger, smarter, he gives us power! Did you think we wanted to follow you all over the forest in the freezing cold?" The man explained.
"How can he give you power?"
"We don't know and we don't want to know. We don't care" he said bluntly.
"So if you have all of this power why won't you stop following Damien?"
"The power wears off after a few days. Believe me, we've thought about it"
I released the power I had on Roy and I and crawled out of the tent.
"What if I told you I could make you stronger than Damien could ever dream of doing?"
I offered.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm a king in a far off realm. And I'm growing an army. My soldiers have the technology to make you into super humans. And the effects don't wear off" I offered.
"What's the catch?"
"You fight in my army until I complete my mission and then I let you go cause hell with your newly profound abilities". I told him.
"What's your mission?"
"Take over earth, and then the nine realms" I said with a smirk.
"And once you accomplish that you'll let us go? And not take the powers away?"
"Exactly" I told them. I could see the wheels turning in their heads as they think over my proposal.
The head guy shared glances with his followers and they all nodded in agreement.
"Us three are in"
"Good. Are there any others like you in Damien's army? That want more power?"
"Oh Yea. Like half of his commanding force"
"Bring them to me" I commanded.
"I'll give them the same offer I gave you"
"Yes sir. What is your name?"
"Loki. King of Jotenheim" I said smiling.
"King!?" He said with a surprised look. "Please excuse us" he smacked his two followers on the chest and they all kneeled down below me.
"May I speak freely my king?" He asked respectfully. I nodded in response
"Why did you come here? What is jotenheim, the nine realms, everything you just spoke about?"
"I came here in search of supplies for general Hart and I. We're heading to Cambridge in the united Kingdom because my wife, the queen, Aceleve has fallen ill and is pregnant with my child. We're told the scholars at Cambridge university can help. Jotenhiem is a harsh land that my people stay and that I rule. The nine realms is the same thing as you earthly traditions would call the universe. Besides Asguard there is jotenheim, Vanaheim, Suartalfheim, midguard, which is where we are now. Also known as earth. And then there's Niflheim, Nioavehir, and muspelheim these are the nine realms." I listed off.
The three didn't reply.
"Tell me, when will these men be ready to move out once I tell them what I can offer?"
"I'm sure they'll be ready immediately. They are used to living in harsh conditions and being malnourished" he said.
"And what is the name of the man who will be the general of the superhumans?"
"Me sir?"
I nodded.
"My name is Austin, sir"
"Alright Austin, who do you choose to be the second in command?" I asked.
Austin looked behind him.
"My brother, Jackson"
I nodded.
"Alright. Go get the rest of the men and bring them to the campsite where you took commander Hart. I expect you there by sunrise" I commanded. Austin nodded and him and his two followers began running down the dirt road to the head campsite. I swallowed and looked at Roy who had remained silent
"Do you think it was a good idea to tell Damien's men everything?" He asked
"Yes. They needed to know, and I'm confident that they won't turn on me. Not whenever I can offer them all of their dreams"
"But if they betrayed Damien what makes you think they won't betray you?"
"My offer is way better" I said with confidence. Roy pursed his lips but didn't reply.
"Well. I guess we go back to the camp ground where they originally took me" Roy suggested. I nodded and grabbed my duffel bag from inside the tent and placed it on my shoulder while Roy did the same.
"Once we get there I'd like to look at the map and figure out the way out of here"
"Okay, were you planning on taking your new mini army to Cambridge with us?"
"No. I'm going to send everyone but Austin and Jackson away to Jotenheim to begin their training"
"Why are you only keeping Austin and Jackson?"
"They know their way around these woods and to the shoreline where we need to get to. I'd like to send everyone else away so they don't even get the chance to betray me. If they agree to my offer then they stick to it. Once they get on Jotenheim no one is allowed to leave unless given permission by me". I explained. Roy nodded and we continued our trek through the snow.
