The next day at lunch we all talked about how fast the year was going by.

It was going to be Calvin and Matthew's last year at school next year. I couldn't help but get emotional when we talked about it. They were the only friends I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, Ellie is amazing, and Marina is the most flawless human being to walk the planet, but I was going to miss the humor they brought to the group. It was so much more comfortable to have them around. Almost all of the school thought that our "clique" was lame. I finally understood why people would stare at Marina with disgust. We were different. We were deep, and wanted to make our lives into a work of art. Everyone else wanted to "live in the moment" and "party hard" when all we were concerned about was making our lives beautiful.

My parents were going out of town next weekend, and Chuck and my brother were going to friends houses for the weekend, so I had the house to myself. My parents trusted me. I told Ellie, Matt, Calvin and Marina that they could stay the weekend if they wanted.

"Duh!"

"This is going to be fucking awesome!"

"Of course!"

"Hellllll yeahhhhh!"

Was all I heard when I told my friends.

I laughed throwing my head back.

"Okay next weekend then." I said controlling my laughter.

Marina smiled at me. I missed her lips more than anything in the world. I bit my lip and closed my eyes trying to remember the night I kissed her for the first time.

"Liz! I'll bring the alcohol okay?" Calvin said throwing a chip at my face.

"Yeah sure." I said getting up. Lunch had ended and I grabbed my bag and Marina's hand and walked to our third period.

During class Mr.Daniels was trying to explain something. I wasn't really paying attention cos I was bored. In the last five minutes of class though, he caught my attention very well.

"Don't forget your partner projects are due soon! It's a large portion of your grade! It's very very important."

I eyed Marina and she giggled.

"We have to do that!" I told her

"I know! Maybe I should come over right after school friday? I could spend the night?" she asked me softly.

I smiled warmly, and nodded my head. She smiled too and continued to work.

Friday

Marina and I walked to my house, hand in hand. She probably thought it was a friendly gesture, but I wanted to hold her hand because I love her touch. Her skin is soft and warm.

When we got home we went straight to my room upstairs and got started on our project.

Although there wasn't much we could do to work on it, we talked and I learned a little bit more about Marina than I did before.

We ended up watching a movie downstairs in the living room. I lay down on the couch and she lays on top of me. Again, probably thinking its a friendly gesture, when all I want to do is rip her clothes off and make love to her.

About an hour into the movie she adjusts her position on my body.

Our hips grind together softly while she's adjusting, turning me on more than I was before. She eventually ended up putting her hands on my chests and attempting to get up off of me, making our body's press against each other. I groan when she gets off of me.

"What was that?" she said with a small chuckle.

"Nothing." I said mumbling, following her to the kitchen. It was about 11:00 and I could see her getting tired. She yawned like a little kitten.

I wrapped my arms around her stomach and whispered in her ear

"I'm going to take a shower." she nodded her head and sat on the sofa. I went upstairs and took a fast shower. When I got out I threw on a loose t shirt and some sweatpants. I walked quietly downstairs, careful not to wake Marina if she was sleeping.

Then I heard the voice of an angel. My heart stopped and my skin got goosebumps. I looked towards where we had our piano. Marina sat playing softly, and singing a song I wasn't familiar with. I sat down and watched her play. Her fingers moved across the keys, and her voice hit incredibly high notes and then back down to deep notes. I wish I could describe how her voice made me feel. I felt like every ounce of pain was gone from my body. I couldn't help but smile. It was like waking up on Christmas morning and finding all the gifts you wanted under the tree. It was like the feeling of Thanksgiving, the anticipation to dig into your food and laugh with your family. I was thankful for Marina coming into my life. I wish I could tell her how I feel about her. When I see her smile.. I just get butterflies in my stomach. She makes me feel like I'm at the top of a roller coaster and it's about to drop. The excitement, fear, adrenaline, everything.

She stopped playing and turned towards me.

Her face was frozen. I sat there beaming like an idiot.

"You weren't supposed to hear that." she said quickly.

"I'm so glad I did. Marina. That was.. Amazing. Better than amazing! I'm speechless. Look! I have fucking goosebumps! Your voice!" I exclaimed. She blushed and looked down. I pulled her chin up to face me.

"Your beautiful Marina." I told her softly, just like I did when we first kissed.

Again she stayed silent for a few minutes.

"Your beautiful too Elizabeth." she said with a slight giggle. I picked her small body up in my arms and ran up stairs. She screeched and laughed.

I threw her on the bed and giggled softly. She chortled and grabbed my arms, pulling me on top of her. I stared into her eyes. She bit her lip softly, and slowly leaned her head in.

I got really confused then. She said she wanted to be friends, so why was she leaning in to kiss me? I backed up, and she stopped leaning. Sadness washed over her face.

"I'm sorry. I just-" she said

"Marina." I said softly. Tears slowly formed in her eyes. "I love you." I said quietly. She nodded her head, and I lay down next to her.

I closed my eyes and after about 10 minutes she said quietly

"Just not the way I want you to."
