~A~

Owen sighed softly, pushing his glasses up on his forehead as he scrubbed his hands into his eyes. He was so tired.

Everything seemed to be going backwards.

They couldn't seem to shake a tail to save their lives.

His brain was working overtime, trying to figure out just what McCoy and Hendricks were up to in trying to follow them all the time.

He was half tempted to get some anonymous phone calls placed, alerting the police to suspicious cars in the neighborhoods. His eyes popped open.

"Shit." He murmured, his language reflecting time spent with Sean. "Of all the stupid things to not think of..."

That was it of course. They had Academy contacts within the police department. All he actually had to do was have them start doing drives through the neighborhoods. That would probably put out a fire because the tails wouldn't be able to just sit around or follow them all night.

Speaking of following.... It had become painfully clear to Owen that they were only wanting to follow Miss Sorenson for some reason. So, his next order to the team was going to be that they just had to stay home. No one would follow them unless they took Sang with them. He sighed heavily and his thoughts returned to the fact that he'd forgotten all about establishing a police presence. Especially if it was called in by the Lee or Griffin house. Uncle would probably be more than happy to call in too. He made a mental note to follow up with them.

He reached for his cup of tea and took a long sip as his thoughts turned to Miss Sorenson.

God, was there ever such a perfect girl?

Owen was hard pressed to say no. She was remarkable. She surprised him on almost a daily basis.

Not in a bad way.

Lately, since January, it had been getting increasingly harder to ignore his attraction to her. He couldn't do this now. He was her teacher and currently a school administrator. He just couldn't risk it.

He snorted softly.

Talk about getting what you want but not at all what you need. His fingers curled reflexively on his cup and his lips pressed into a thin line as he considered the line in the sand he refused to cross.

It would be so easy.

Shirk any and all duty and responsibility and just be a hot blooded 20 year old male.

Tap into his inner 'Sean Green' and say, to hell with the rules and just kiss the hell out of the girl.

His eyes widened and he almost shook with the effort it took to tamp down his body's reaction to the very thought of her. He closed his eyes and his thoughts danced over her features from the blond tousled hair on the top of her head... the wide slightly haunted green eyes that on occasion sparkled with mirth and mischief. Her cute nose that would be lightly sprinkled with freckles this summer, just as it had been last summer. The long curve of her neck that lead into the sleek curve of her shoulders.

His breath caught at the idea of being able to feather kisses across her collar bones before... He blinked and sat up straighter in his chair.

"Oh, no no no ..." He shook his head. This simply would not do. He couldn't let his mind wander all over her body or he'd never be able to hold himself together and in check tomorrow during her violin lesson. His grip tightened on the cup of tea until his hand shook and tea spilled out on his hand. He hissed out an almost silent gasp of pain as the hot beverage landed on him. He reached out and set it down before he could do anymore harm to himself.

He got up, nervous pacing disguised as making the rounds to secure his house before he headed to bed. It was more than likely going to be another sleepless night as his thoughts would be plagued with dreams of the most perfect girl he'd ever known. Maybe if he was lucky, the situation would arise and he would be called out for some late night Academy work.

When you try your best but you don't succeed

When you get what you want but not what you need

When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
