~A~

Mr. Blackbourne: Do you have any tests today, Miss Sorenson?

Sang: No, no tests today, Mr. Blackbourne.

Mr. Blackbourne: Are there any classes that you feel particularly strongly about attending after our music class?

Owen frowned at his phone when there seemingly was a large gap in time between his question and her response. He glanced at the clock but it was still before homeroom started so he couldn't imagine what she was stalling for. He was about to text Kota for a report to her well-being when a text finally chimed in.

Sang: No, I don't feel particularly strongly about any class today, Mr. Blackbourne.

Sang: Except for Violin. If I may be bold for a moment as to inquire if it is inappropriate for me to have fairly strong feelings for my violin teacher....?

He blinked at his phone for a long moment. He was trying to formulate a response when a picture message came in from Luke, showing Sang nervously biting her lip as she stared at her phone after her last text. He smiled slightly. So it was a nervous decision for her to be so bold in her question.

~Thank you Mr. Taylor.~ he sent back in response before pulling up Sang's message again.

Mr. Blackbourne: We can address your question during our class trip today. Please make sure to give all your homework to the boys so that they can turn them in for you. Dr. Green will ensure you are excused from Gym Class.

Sang: Thank you Mr. Blackbourne. I will give the assignments to the boys. See you later.  :)

Mr. Blackbourne: You're welcome, Miss Sorenson. I will be waiting.

He then sent a message to Sean to make sure to excuse the gym class before he headed out to let the secretary know he would be gone for the rest of the day after his 4th period class and that Miss Sorenson would be out of school for the afternoon. He felt particularly pleased that they'd managed to convince the previous secretary to take an extended vacation for the rest of the school year and with the help of Dr. Roberts, had installed an Academy connection into the position. He no longer had to fight tooth and nail to get the boys and Miss Sorenson out of class. It had the added benefit of making sure that the assignments that they were on were no longer just given to the principal on the whim of a secretary who wished to keep her job secured.

He wound up pacing his office as time seemed to have slowed immeasurably between the time that homeroom started and 3rd period ended. He mentally ran through his list of what was packed in his trunk and the agenda for their long week together at the beach. Sean popped in at one point and Owen caught him smirking at the pacing and the distracted look he was sure that was on his face.

"What, Sean...?"

"Nothing. I just like to see you unsettled every once in a while."

Owen shot him a dirty look. "That's not very nice." He said.

"fine, I'm just really amused and will keep this away from the snapchat I was planning on." Sean twirled his phone in his fingers.

"To think I am leaving you in charge." Owen shook his head.

"We'll be fine." Sean reassured him.

Owen ran his hand over the back of his head. "I know you will be." He said.

"As will you and Miss Pookie." Sean said, studying his best friend.

"I know that too." He said.

"Good." Sean said. "So stop being nervous about it."

"I'm not... really." Owen sighed. "It's just been a while and this feels so much more important than any date I've ever gone out on."

Sean came over to him and clapped a hand on his shoulder. "That's because it is, but if anyone can come out of this with everything worked out or in order, it's the two of you." He said. "trust me."

Owen gave him a slight smile. "I do. That's part of what worries me."

"Did you just make a joke?" sean asked as there was a soft knock on the door before Sang entered the office.

"Good morning, Miss Sorenson."

"Good morning, Mr. Blackbourne." She said, inclining her head slightly towards him. "Dr. Green." She greeted Sean.

"Miss Sang." Sean gathered his things quickly and came over to her, kissing her cheek. "Have a good week away." He said before opening the office door. "Full class marks today..." he said over his shoulder.

Owen was at her side before she'd even fully realized what Sean had said and took her book bag from her. "Ready?"

She blinked at him and relinquished the bag. "He said a week away and you said a class trip earlier..." she said.

"True." He said, cocking his head to the side and studying her as she was studying him.

"What does that mean?" she asked.

"Well, it would be very difficult for you to keep me grounded to you at my house so I thought we could go away to the beach." Her eyes lit up. "And we're leaving now under the guise of an assignment for you so that we won't be followed."

"I like the beach." She said. "Are you sure that we're okay to do that?"

"Yes, Miss Sorenson. I'm certain all is fine." He reassured her, turning her towards the door, his hand resting at the base of her spine as he walked her through it, pausing to lock the door before his hand returned to her lower back as they walked out of the office before he remembered where they were and he dropped it as they walked.

"And I assume that I've been packed for?" she asked, glancing up at him through the veil of her eyelashes.

"Mr. Coleman has taken care of it." He reassured her. "We'll stop to pick up some lunch before we get too far down the road."

'Then I am more than ready to start our week." She said as they reached his car and they put her bag and violin case in the trunk before he went to open her door for her.

"Then off we go." Owen felt his lips turn up in a smile as he got her settled in the car and went around to the driver's side to get behind the wheel.
