You know those labels on the "Nutrition Facts" panel of most cereals? Ya know, the ones that say "iron"? Well, have you ever stopped to wonder what the heck that meant?

Scared yet? Don't be.

The iron is used to increase the shelf-life of the cereal so that it will last longer. Once ingested, the iron generally ends up turning into an easily-absorbed compound for the intestines. Generally, most of the iron is excreted.

So, while there are bits of iron in your cereal, you need not fear, for you shall survive.
