Chapter 9 | The Reveal

Fast forward to the next appointment with Dr. Brown. Dr. Brown looked at the computer monitor and then looked at Katie, Konnor, and Cindy. She asked them if they wanted to know the gender. Cindy asked Dr. Brown if she could write the gender on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. Dr. Brown handed the envelope to Katie and she put it in her purse. Later that day, Katie and Konnor went to the bakery. They asked the girl behind the counter if they could place a cake order. The girl got out a note pad and pen and asked them what they wanted. Katie asked if she could make a cake with blue or pink cake, which ever matched the gender in the envelope, and white, vanilla icing. The girl realized what the cake was for and looked at Katie's stomach. There was an obvious bump. The girl gave Katie and Konnor a nasty look, but accepted the cake order. Katie handed her the envelope and stormed out the bakery. Konnor looked at the girl and told her that they would pay for the cake when they picked it up in two days. Konnor went outside to check on Katie. She was already sitting in the car in the passenger seat with her seat belt on. Konnor got in the drivers seat and buckled his seat belt. He started the car and looked at Katie. He grabbed her hand. Katie turned to look at him.

Konnor: Are you okay?

Katie: I guess so.

Konnor: Don't worry about her.

Katie: Konnor, it's not that I'm worried about her. It's that this is how things are going to be. We could be peacefully eating lunch at the mall and people would still give us dirty looks. We are going to be getting dirty looks all the time.

Konnor: I know, Katie, but that is just how it's going to be. It's going to be okay. Just don't stress too much about it.

Katie: Okay.

Konnor leaned in. Katie looked in his eyes. Konnor leaned in and kissed Katie. The kiss seemed to last forever, but when it was over, Katie turned the radio on and Konnor drove out of the bakery parking lot. On the ride home, Katie and Konnor talked about their reveal party. Katie told Konnor that she was only going to invite Alexis, Chloe, and Jordan, and that he could invite a couple of his friends too. Konnor said that he only really had one friend and that was Ethan. Katie said that he could invite him if he wanted. Konnor respectfully declined, as he didn't want to cause problems. Konnor pulled into Katie's drive way and Katie unbuckled her seat belt. She looked at Konnor and asked if he wanted to go inside with her. He agreed and turned off the car. They went inside and Katie's parents were sitting in the kitchen. When they saw Konnor, they were a little shocked at first, but then greeted him. Katie told her parents that they were going to go into Katie's room and watch a movie. Konnor followed Katie up the stairs to Katie's room. Katie turned on the TV and put in her favorite movie, Mrs. Doubtfire. She pushed play and turned off the lights. Konnor and Katie sat on her bed. They snuggled up under the blankets and watched the movie. About halfway through the movie, Katie fell asleep. Konnor didn't know what to do because she fell asleep on him and he couldn't move. Cindy went into Katie's room to check on them. She saw that Katie had fallen asleep. She whispered to Konnor that he could sleep over and that she would call his mom and let her know. Konnor nodded and continued to watch the movie. Eventually, he fell asleep.

(So rn it is 2/26/17 and I'm reading this story for a video. I don't feel like finishing this story, ever, so I am just gonna publish this chapter as it is and let this be the end.
