CHAPTER 1
Kayden's POV
As usual today was a hectic day I had so many matters which I attended as my elder brother was as usual busy in playing and flirting with damsels.
He is always like that I want to sometimes punch him in his perfect teeth but what to do he is my elder brother and more importantly my father's gem who is never wrong according to my father but the truth is that my father doesn't know about his deeds . He is expected to be the next King so many has the tendency to cover up his ruthless behaviour to win his trust but not exactly everyone ,there are some who prefer to do their duty not mingle themselves in this nuisance of buttering one of them is our prime minister Justin , who is a good man and is always concerned for the welfare of this realm.
I was just lost in my thoughts when my little sis came running towards me shouting my name " Kayden!! Kayden!!" This brought me back to reality
"what is it ?" I asked politely by seeing her state I was confident that it has something to do with father because he never liked her always takes his frustration on her which I never approve , there has been rounds of tiffs between us regarding to this matter but still nothing has changed.
" Father & Drake are anxiously waiting for you regarding some political matter" she said with a frightened look on her face covering her beautiful face I knew there is something wrong with River's behaviour she has been acting quite peculiar these days no matter how many times I have asked her she wouldn't tell me this is also worrying me a lot these days " Don't worry I'm just going " I said with a nod while seeing her whenever I see I feeling of protectiveness always make its way for her , she has been through a lot no one in the family loves her except me " You must hurry father is very angry"
She said . "Yeah yeah I'm going " I said as I mentally made a note of things that I have to discuss with father and Drake which certainly includes River
As I walk through the the court it was as silent as a grave , I bowed before my father and gave a quick nod to my brother there was no one except us ,Justin & Eric ,our military commander which means the matter was quite serious as my father too was wearing a serious expression.
"What's the problem your majesty?" I asked unable to control my anxiety
After a long pause he answered his voice husky " The city of Akardia has been attacked "
"Attacked? By whom?" I tried to make sense no one has ever dared to attack our city, our realm's name is enough to make people sweat with fear our kingdom is one of the most powerful kingdom after Gallifiry but Gallifiry and Demenor has always shared an alliance attachment they can't do this to us can they? I was in my own thoughts when my questions were supplemented with answers
" I know what are you thinking but this time unfortunately you are right they have bombarded us and taken control over our city & this time Howard has played greatly by sending his son, one of the mightiest warrior,Tristan. But I won't give up!! " father said with a cold deadly voice laced with indignation which made us all flinch at once "Now tell me who will volunteer to take the responsibility of defeating that bloody Tristan!! "
his voice boomed in our ears
"Father we have no right to call a warrior's name with such disrespect nevertheless he is a true warrior & is obeying his father's orders " I said which took them all by surprise and then I continued saying " There must be a reason behind their waging a war against us are you certain we haven't broken the treaty's code ?"
" Perhaps they have become ambitious as they are jealous of our prosperity? " said Eric with a gleam in his eyes because of the possibility of war
" Or perhaps we have done something which isn't in our best interest?" Justin said while giving a questioning look to Drake
All eyes now turned to Drake which I has sure there has to be something which he is not telling us actually I'm not blindfolded by his love as my father is and as for Drake he is quite heinous when it comes to crushing or insulting others
I must find out what's the mystery behind it
