CHAPTER 4

River's POV
I was very worried for my brother as he was the only family I had as for my dad and my elder brother they both were demons in disguise of humans I never told Kayden about abussive assaults which were given by my own father and brother I was scared that if I did I will loose him , tears welled up into my eyes as I couldn't bear the guilt of lying to Kayden , my inner conscience told me that I should tell him the truth but I was afraid of the consequences that would be because of me , I knew that he was one of the finest warrior but he wouldn't be able to challenge the whole kingdom and eventually it would lead him to his execution that I couldn't handle I wasn't afraid for myself but I was afraid for him . He was always by my side and always showered brotherly love over me and supported me every time he could. I drifted back to reality when my door was suddenly opened by Drake himself who was accompanied by some soldiers, my blood became cold by merely saying his cold face as started pacing towards me I quickly unleashed my sword which was now pointing towards the prince who was wickedly smiling at me , he barked at the soldiers " You fools tie her up right now!!!" I was wielding the sword for my self defence but that was of no use as they were too many for me to handle a killed a dozen but a soldier injured me by piercing his sword on my right shoulder which made me lose my balance and I dropped my sword
Shite!!! I have to find a way I thought to myself if I could let Justin know about it he could help me to elude but then Drake confession something which led my walls of courage to  broke down "Don't think of eluding ,there is no one here to help you, because everyone is dead !" Drake confessed with evilness gleaming in his eyes
"No! No! Dear god please no!" I cried unable to stop my eyes getting wet  " Oh sweet sis don't start your emotional drama again I had to kill Kayden what did you thought that I'll let him live ? No I'm not that kind of man I had to take him out of my way and every single person who stands in my way of becoming the King  even Justin and your filthy maid "Drake hissed
"You're insane!!!!" I cried "Everything is fair in love and war & this is war that I'm destined to win" he confidently stated "And as for you, you are Eric's reward
of killing Kayden isn't that obvious? It was our bloody plan no one attacked Alkadia it was our plan!!!!"
My blood turned cold I just wanted to f****ing kill him and as for my father I don't consider him as my father how could he indulge himself in such a disgusting act but I was helpless I can't do nothing except lamenting 
" You're wrong because according the priests Kayden is destined to become the King!" I stated as a matter of fact
" I don't believe in that fatalism that's a fallacy!!" He groaned ferociously , calming down a little he continued "You should rest you have lost a lot of blood I want you alive to pay him of what he has done for me but your feebleness is not helping it" saying devoid of any emotion.

" I will rather die than become his object of pleasure!! " I wildly stated

"You have no choice " Drake said in a cold deadly voice which almost made me flinch " send a physician for her she needs to be treated immediately!" Drake barked at the soldier who meekly ran to fetch one as Drake left me with almost 30 soldiers to watch over me

I prayed to God that Kayden is alive and safe  "I can't loose him" was my only mantra but heart ached just merely thinking about him I don't know what I'll do if something happened to him I was pulled out of my delirium when  the physician started examining my wound I literally flinched at her touch but tried to calm me down but I'm some girl who can be truffled with I pushed her to get rid of her as I didn't need any help for that wound I would rather die than have my so called dad's and brother's obligation  I shouted at her to just get her ass out of here , suddenly some the guards entered to get the physician out of my sight , dizziness started to take over my senses and slowly everything went black

Drake's POV

"Father she has the nerve to act like that in front of me and even she also slammed at the physician and didn't let her wound to be treated she's a spoiled brat I wish that Eric will teach her some manners! " I angrily told about her

" Leave this nuisance tell me any message from Eric?" My father questioned me  I knew that father just hated talking about River so I didn't stretch the conversation.

"Not yet, father " a replied with anxiousness, I know that this was a perfect plan no one can best it and Eric was a fine warrior but why is it taking him so long , it was now irritating me

Suddenly a guard came running wearing a worried expression I instantly asked without waiting for him to bow
" My prince, the princess fainted and ....."he gave me feared look as if deciding to continue or not
" And?" I asked permitting to continue
" We have tried so many techniques even the physician is also trying but she's not regaining consciousness " the guard sadly said

" I don't care what it  takes but I need her alive as I have to present her as reward to sir Eric do you get it ? Now go!!" I ordered the guard which he obediently agreed

"Don't worry son everything will be fine " father said with a disgusted expression making its way " She will be fine" he said after a pause

"I hope ,even if she doesn't I  don't care for her but then what will I tell Eric ? It's about our commitment dad" I said frustratingly

"Don't worry we will get through this, son " he said while giving me a fatherly hug

Kayden's POV
"Wake up Kayden ! Kayden!"was all I heard which made me awoke it took some tinkering but when my eyes flew open I saw my mom and Grandpa ,the first thought that came to my mind was that if I was daydreaming , hallucinating or what ! But before I can jump to any conclusions all of a sudden they started talking , my grandpa started " Kay you have forgotten me " with a disappointed look
"No ,no grandpa how could I you are my grandpa and my mentor and always will be! " I said with determination this time my mom said " You have forgotten who you really are and so forgotten me " with a unreadable expression on her face and my grandpa continued

" Look inside yourself, Kay you can't lose hope ,you have to fight injustice not for your own satisfaction but for the welfare your people "

" Kayden , my son you are strong, you ate brave , you have to fight against the injustice even if it's against your own father or your brother !!"my mother said with a sad smile on her face

"Remember who you are you are my grandson and the one true heir of Demenor , it's your destiny!" my grandpa enlightened me

With that they disappeared I tried to call them but they didn't listened it seemed that they had turned deaf  they just smiled and left

I woke up with a jolt and found Asher beside who was licking me to bring me back to consciousness and I was on the ground I tried to stand up but a deadly pain made itself known which earned a cry of pain from my mouth
Asher started neighing as if asking me if I was alright I calmed him down by soothing his mane and by telling that I am alright

I knew what I had to do I jumped on Asher as I've to reach Demenor and save River from that pest and disclose this conspiracy to my father I knew he didn't loved me but that doesn't mean he'll become so blinded by his love towards Drake that he would support him even if he's wrong
"Come on Asher show me the meaning of speed" I told him which he replied by neighing and then started running as fast as he could
