Now that the H.I.V.E. had regrouped, they were getting closer and closer to having their next attack on those who had defeated them. After they had killed off Cyborg and Beast Boy, they would go after the other potential threats in Jump City. Then they would be free to expand to the rest of the country.
Brother Blood was looking forward to putting his plans into effect. He had learned from the mistake he had made in the past. When he had ordered the Deconstructor built, he had not put all his resources to use. Whether for use of better security or faster research, Blood had not put every chip he had had on the table.
Now Brother Blood had called in everyone in the H.I.V.E., intent to make sure the past wasn't repeated. Not long after the Deconstructor had been destroyed, Red Hood had been called and ordered to bring his entire team with him. All hands on deck were going to be needed.
Two weeks after she had joined them, Shimmer had been given a tour of the base by Red Hood. When the tour had concluded, Brother Blood joined them. It was time for some more official introductions.
"So, what did you think of the tour, Shimmer?"
Shimmer held back contempt in her stare. She was, after all, not becoming a H.I.V.E. agent just because she wanted to. She had only accepted Blood's invitation for an opportunity to avenge Mammoth's death. She was only joining so as to punish the ones who had killed him.
She would be particularly useful in destroying them. Shimmer's powers were very unique. All she had to do was wave her hand and she could transmute any object. Meaning she could manipulate the physical state of any object. For example, she was capable of turning wood into water vapor, steel to gas, air to ice, and so much more.
"You have quite an operation here, Mr. Blood," Shimmer finally replied in an impressed voice. "But how much longer do we have to wait before we go after my brother's killers?"
Brother Blood considered how to answer. "We will need more information on their location before we can even hope to strike. Even then, you will still need your teammates to help you, skilled as you are, Shimmer." A door opened behind them to reveal two more members of Red Hood's team.
The first of these two was a large, muscular man. He was not as strong as Mammoth had been, but he was in very fit condition. His hair was blonde, but his face was hidden behind a hockey mask, like Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th movies.
The second individual was a woman of a tall and slender build. She wore a black and green suit, with a brown belt around her waist. On either side of the belt as a long, sharp sai blade. Like the man, her face was covered by a mask, but hers was catlike in design.
"This is Cheshire and her father Sportsmaster. They've been good colleagues of mine for some time now. They have experience in dealing with interlopers like your brother's killers. You should their help to be most beneficial."
Sportsmaster made no acknowledgement to Shimmer, but Cheshire nodded in recognition. Shimmer looked at each of them, then she turned back to face Blood and Red Hood. Her expression was curious.
"Are they the only other members of this team I've signed up with?" she demanded, not sounding completely impressed.
"No," said Red Hood. "There are other members of my team, but they have been sent on a mission to throw off any snoops who are on to us. They'll join us within a day or so."
Before Shimmer could ask who they were, the sound of an alarm went off. The sound of guards moving to the main entrance could be heard along the main corridor. None of them knew what was going on, but they all knew something was wrong.
