"It's time for us to head back, Princess!"
The lady who was been referred as the princess discontinued her steps as soon as she heard this.
The maid took a step back and in a split of second she saw a face turning with a pair of kohled eyes staring at her. A single glimpse of those eyes were capable of making even the devas of the heaven fall in love. There came a flash of ire in them which was muffled by the smirk played by the lips."Did you just call me princess?"
The same lips moved as the words were spoken.
"You certainly did."
She was not the type who would wait for an answer.
"So if I am the princess and you just a maid then doesn't it totally misbecomes you to pass me an order?"
Another question was tossed.
"S-S...Sorry Princess! but I didn't mean to order you. I just intended to remind what your mother said you before we came here,"
The maid tried to defend herself in a trembling voice."Oh! you don't need to do that. Ofcourse I remember that Ma doesn't wants me to stay outdoor after sunset," The princess said.
"We are going back now, dasi! And make sure you don't dare to give me orders any time next. I accept your apology this time but it won't happen every now and then.""I am really sorry Princess! I won't offend you ever again," The maid apologized with her head bowed.
"Thank god! you are here! I was getting worried." The queen hugged her daughter as she reached back home.
"Ma! I am not a child anymore. You must stop worrying for me like this," The Princess replied hugging her mother back.
"I know you have grown up Princess! and that's what concerns me more. Lord Shiva has blessed us with such a beautiful gift like you. Now I just wish we get an eligible groom whom we can trust while ceding our beloved princess."
"You very well know Ma! I am not interested in any of the proposals which have came for me."
"I know that. Thus, me and your father have decided to conduct a Swayamvara for you. We have decided to invite all the bachelors there. You can choose any of them as your husband," The queen said smilingly.
"We would respect your decision, Princess!"
A male voice came while the king entered the chamber. The princess went to hug him and said, "If I am going to choose my husband on my own then you don't need to conduct a Swayamvara."
The king and queen looked at her, surprised by the statement.
She further spoke, "I will be marrying the man who brings me an unaltered black coloured flower of lotus."
Her parents gave her a confused look.
"But, black coloured lotus does not exists...."The king tried to complete his sentence but was interrupted by his daughter."If a man wills to marry me he will have to fulfill this condition and that's my final decision. You just announce it across the country."
Both her parents being aware of her nature decide not to urgue over this topic. Soon the beatofdrum was made all around.
