"You know what?" Pansy said as we walked towards the dungeons "I reckon you could win this tournament, Chloe, I'm serious"
I know that Pansy is only saying this to make up for her behaviour of the last few weeks, but I appreciate it all the same. Daphne, however, leant against the portrait hole door, folded her arms and frowned at Pansy.
"Chloe's got a long way to go before she finishes this tournament" she said seriously "if that was the first task, I hate to think what's coming next."
"Right little ray of sunshine aren't you?" I laughed "You and Professor Trelawney should get together sometime"
When we got into the Slytherin common room it exploded with cheers and yells. There were mountains of cakes and flagons of pumpkin juice and butterbeer on every surface. I helped myself to food; I had almost forgotten what it was like to feel properly hungry. I sat down with Pansy and Daphne. I can't believe how happy I feel; I had pansy back on my side, I got through my first task, the next task isn't for three months, and the kiss with Draco still swam around my brain.
Blaise picked up my egg off of the table and urged me to open it. I dug my fingernails into the groove that ran all the way around the egg and prized it open. It was hollow and completely empty - but the moment I opened it, the most horrible noise, a loud and screechy wailing, filled the room. I shut it quickly, my eyes wide with shock.
It was nearly one in the morning when we all finally went up to the dormitory, we were going to stay in the boys dormitory as a group tonight, we hadn't done it in such a long time. Draco was already fast asleep when we bundled through the door, giggling and smiling as Crabbe gave me a piggyback ride. I'm not having any of this. I leapt off Crabbe's back and jumped on top of Draco, shaking him awake. He stirred slightly. He really was just like a sleepy kitten. Messy hair, cuddled up, slightly smiling face. However I'm really not pleased my the fact that he hadn't even bothered to greet me after my battle with a dragon.
"Draco" I shook him again and giggled, causing him to open one eye "I didn't die!"
He didn't reply. He just closed his eyes again, pulled me into a hug and rolled over so that we were tangled together under his warm duvet. Blaise raised his eyebrows at me and I shook my head. Me and Draco are so close that our friends began to actually want us to be together; Blaise says that it's almost painful that we don't just get together. I, however see no way it could work. I gently slapped Draco's face causing him to open both of his eyes.
"This is the best I've felt in a long time" I said playfully, yet sternly "I'd appreciate it if you'd stop sleeping and enjoy the festivities while they last"
So, reluctantly, the tired blonde sighed and pulled himself out of his blanket cave and we dived into conversation.
"I'm proud of you freckles" Draco grinned, still tired "I knew you'd do well"
"Don't lie Draco" Goyle mocked "you were terrified when she lost the cloak, you're pale as it is, but you should've seen how ghostly white you were"
I grinned as colour rose in his cheeks. At least he cared.
"Chloe" Goyle started, making my smile falter. He had a grin on his face, it made me nervous "Who do you like?"
"W-what do you mean?" I stuttered out. I knew exactly what he meant though; I just wanted to avoid the question.
"Out of everyone in our school, who would you most like to date?"
"I haven't really thought about it" I stated. I hadn't really thought about it if I'm honest... I've been too busy battling Dragons.
