I sit at the window. Thinking of how that accident, could have killed me. I look in the stars and think.

"I could have joined you Grandma Hall." I say to myself. By I'm  needed here. All my parents have is me. All my friends have is me. They need me, and I need to be here. Only here is where I can be for now. I sit at the window a little longer until Mark comes out by me.

"Hey, can't sleep?" He asks.

"Nope, I can only think." I say. He hugs me.

"We are glad your ok. Everyone is." He says. I hug him back.

"I'm glad too." I say. He pushes me back to my room and helps me onto my bed.

"Let's still go to Woodland over the summer, ok?" I ask.

"Ok." He says.

My moms pick me up and we drive home. I'm off  oxygen tank but still need the wheel chair. As I arrive home I rest for a few days then I go to Woodland with Mark.

"What should we do first?" He asks.

"Let's handout the tourist map for the people." So we stand at the front handing out the map and a pamphlet. At lunch we go to the food court and get free pretzels and hot dogs.

"This is such a fun job." I say as I eat my pretzel.

"Yeah, This job is awesome." He agrees. Then we go out to the lake and read the book to people of what this used to be. This once was a swamp but nature and years of weathering caused it to become a lake. The lake had trees surrounding it and boats your go take rides in. There's a camping site to in the other side. That's were we work next. We direct people to there camp spots and Mark pushes me in my wheel chair back to the front.

"Ready for the camp trip?" He asks me.

"Yeah but I'm gonna have crutches. And I can't hike." I say sadly.

"Then I'm back to this wheel chair when I come back to town."

"Well I'll do everything with you that you can and be with you when you can't do certain things." He says smiling.

"Ok." I say.

My mom drives him home.

"Bye Mark tell your mom to bring food tomorrow's for dinner." My mom says.

"Ok Mrs.Smith. Bye Becca. See you at the camp site tomorrow." He says as he waves and walks to his house.

"Bye Mark." I say.

My mom takes me to the hospital to pick up the crutches. I try them that night and fall more than once. But I keep trying. It will only get harder in the dirt and rocks.

That night I sleep more than I did in the hospital and dream of the woods. It's a blurry dream but I did make it a reality. I miss the dream but have it in real life. I still dream of the woods but the outer woods. Where animals roam and birds sing. That's where we camp. Far out in the woods. Where we are most relaxed.

We drive for 4 hours and meet the Tanners it there. That Marks last name. Mark Tanners. We set up camp and build a fire. Mark and I got in a boat and go onto the middle of the lake. We stay there until we decide to fish. Then we go back to shore and start fishing. I caught 2 bass and he caught 3. But my dad caught 10 and his dad caught 8. Our moms just talked and made our dinner from the bass. That night we made smores and Mark and I went star gazing. I saw a shooting star.

"What are you gonna wish for?" Asks Mark.

"I wish for me to get better and for us to have a future together. Maybe." I say blushing.

"Me too." He says. We both laugh. I lean against him and he puts his arm around me. We watch the sky until we choose to sleep. I go in my tent and he goes in his.

I walk through the deep woods. I see deer, birds, lizards, a bear, and the sun. I lay in the grass. My dream my leg is fine and I run in the grass and the sun. But I wake up and look at my leg. Broken. Still broken. I sigh and lay back. I look at the top of the tent and see rain drops. I listen to the rain. A soothing sound I like. I fall asleep to the sound and dream of the deep woods.
