All night I dream in in the woods but I'm lost I can't find Woodland. Everything is different. But then I find another town. There's a sign at the front. On an old piece of woods it says "Mourners Lake" I get a little creeped out by the name. I walk into town and see everyone in dark clothing. No one is being kind.
"Hello! Are you lost." Says someone in a creepy tone. I turn around to see a girl in a black clock.
"I'm Bethany." She says smiling. Her smile was evil and I could see it in her eyes.
"Yeah..... I'm looking for Woodland." I say taking a step back.
"Woodland? Ew what a ratchet place. Why would you want to go there." She says.
"My friends are there." I say.
"Your friends huh. Well why don't you make some new ones!" She says and grabs my hand.
Everything's black then I wake up wrapped in rope and hanging over a pond.
"You'll make plenty of friends down there. The other children get lonely down there." Says Bethany smiling.
She cuts the rope and I fall in.
I wake up in the night with a scream. I sit up in bed. I look around to calm down.
"Amelia." I whisper.
Mark comes running into my room.
"Becca, you ok?" He says in the door way.
"I.. I... I think so." I say. Mark looks at me and starts to walk away.
"Ok, try to sleep." He says.
"Mark..." I say stoping him.
He comes back to the door way.
"Yeah Becca." He says.
"Can you... I'm... I'm scared." I say looking out the window.
"I see." He walks over and sits on the edge of the bed by me.
"What do you need." He says.
I hug him tight. He hugs me back.
"Can you stay with me..." I say.
"Of course." He says brushing my hair with his hand.
He lays next to me and I lay my head in his chest. He hugs me and I try to fall asleep. But I stare at the stars. I look up at Mark and see him looking to. He looks down and me and smiles. I smile back. We both eventually fall asleep.
CLICK. I wake up to. I look over in the door way. Amy is holding her phone and and Nate is quietly laughing.
"Amy!" I say.
Mark wakes up and looks at me then Amy.
"Uhhh." He says.
"Hehehe sorry couldn't resist taking a photo of you two." Says Amy.
Nate just laughs.
I look back at Mark. I'm laying in him and he is hugging me.
We both blush.
I hop up.
"I need to umm... get dressed." I say stepping away from the bed.
"Me too." Says Mark and he goes to his room to change.
I put on light blue shorts and a T-Shirt that says "California" and grab my sandals. I go to the kitchen.
Amy made eggs, bacon, and pancakes and Nate is already eating. I sit down and start eating too.
"Mm this is great Amy." I say.
"Thanks this is how my grandma makes it." She says taking a seat next to Nate.
Mark sits by me and we all eat in silence. Only because the food is so good.
After we all grab stuff we need for the day and start to drive to the FairGrounds.
When we arrive I see every ride and my eyes widen.
"Let's go!" Says Mark grabbing my hand and pulling me in. All four of us go on spinning rides, giant swings, roller coasters, and then we split up.
"Let's go on the Ferris wheel." Says Mark pointing at it.
"Ok I say." As we walk over.
We get on and stop at the top. I look out at the beach and sigh.
"This is amazing." I say.
"Yeah." Says Mark.
He holds my hand and I look at him. We look into each other's eyes. We lean in for a kiss. We kiss for a minute then the Ferris wheel starts moving and we both jump. We blush and laugh. After we but cotton candy and sodas. We find Amy and Nate eating ice creams. We all then go to the beach and just sit and watch the waves. Over the horizon I see dark clouds.
"I think a storm is coming." Says Nate.
"But good thing we aren't driving back till Sunday." He says.
It's Friday and we had the schools at off so that's why we left yesterday.
We all go back to the beach cottage and relax.
About 5 o'clock the storm hits. Thunder and lighting with hard rain. We all sit in the living room where the sound is not as loud. But then the power goes out.
I look at Mark.
"It's ok Becca we are fine." He says pulling me closer to him.
I lean against his shoulder.
Lighting flashes and we all jump. The thunder cracks and sounds like drums going through a speaker right next to my ear.
That night we all sleep on the couch so no one gets hurt alone in the dark. I fall asleep leaning on Mark and he has his hands around me.
I wake up in the woods on the ground. I see Woodland in the distance. I run over but to find only Amelia there.
"Amelia where is everyone?" I say running up to her.
"Where were you?" She asks worried. "Bethany came by and said you were dead. I was worried. Everyone left because she said if we didn't we would all die but I stayed to wait for you." She says hugging me.
"Really?" I ask
"I was worried you actually were." She says. "Now follow me." She says pulling me away.
As we walk through town buildings have crumbled and fallen. At one I see a body under some stone.
"Amelia someone's stuck!" I say. I run up to take off the stone. She helps me. I pull out the body and turn it over. I gasp. I start to tear up.
"No please no." I say crying.
My tears fall down onto the face.
It's Mark. I shake him. He opens his eyes.
"Becca.... I'm ok." He says smiling with a bloody lip and covered in bruises.
I cry tears of joy. I hug him and we find an old cart. We put him in it and go where Amelia is leading us.
We show up at a camp where everyone from town is at. Amelia drops me off at a tent with Mark. She leaves and I look at Mark. He's sleeping but very hurt. When I turned him over I thought he was dead. I couldn't live without him. In my dreams and in real life. I hug him and close my eyes.
