The Leaky Cauldron and The Shrieking Shack

It's been two weeks since our departure from Hogwarts. We couldn't tell Molly about us leaving, so we decided to stay at The Leaky Cauldron for a couple days till we could get things sorted out. It's been fourteen days and I've already helped clean the entire pub and helped Fred and George get things moved into their shop. They wouldn't officially be opening till the Fall, so that gives us the whole Summer to work on things.

I hadn't heard anything from Hermione, Harry, or Ron, which kind of made me worry what all's going on there. I know Umbridge knew what happened with the D.A. so she must be giving them all hell. Nothing from Dumbledore, and no one around town has heard anything either. I've been stressed out to the max, but thankfully McGonagall sends me all my homework so I don't fall behind.

I currently sit at the bar, working on my homework, when there's a tap on my shoulder. I turn to see Jaxson, Mr. Ollivander's son, standing there. He's also one of the guys who runs mail around town to everyone. He's around 24, blonde hair, blue eyes, and has a handsome smile. He's around six foot, and dresses really nice for a mail boy. He hands me a bundle of envelopes, smiling at me.

"Thanks, Jax" I say, smiling to him, as I take the bundle from him. "No problem. Say.." He pauses, as he hops on the bar stool beside mine. "Whatcha working on?" He asks, pulling my papers towards himself. "Ohhh, Muggle Studies" He says, scrunching up his nose, before pushing the papers back to me.

"Guessing not your favorite subject?" I say, giggling softly. I giggle more when he shakes his head at me, before looking around the pub. "So, where's your boyfriend?" Jaxson says, smirking at me. I roll my eyes at him, noticing he's asking about Fred. "Well, one.." I say, grabbing my coffee mug off the counter and taking a sip.

"He's not my boyfriend.. And two" I say placing the mug down, before looking back to him. "He's working at his shop" I say, smiling to him. "Hey, do you think they are hiring for any help?" He says, looking around the pub again, as he's afraid of being heard. I smile to him, before looking from my homework to him. "I'm sure I can find out and let you know" I say, smiling to him.

"That would be awesome" He says, looking at his watch that's around his wrist. "Well, I have to go. I have more mail to run to more shops" He says, smiling at me. "I'll see you later?" He asks, and I nod to him, watching as he nods to me, before hopping off his stool, and walking out of the pub.

I smile to myself before looking back at my bundle of envelopes. I browse through the them, noticing most of its homework from McGonagall. I roll my eyes, adding all that to my already collection, before pulling out the last envelope. My name is neatly scribbled on the top, and I smile, recognizing it almost immediately.

Dad.

I hurriedly open the envelope, glancing around the pub, noticing it to be very dead today, before placing my eyes back on the envelope. I pull the letter out, unfolding it, and reading over it slowly..

"My Dearest Lily,
Thank you so much for being patient with me about not getting back to you so quickly. I've gone into hiding. I really need to talk to you in person. McGonagall told me you know about what happened with your Mother, and she also told me you know about me.
I know you must feel really badly and you must have a lot of questions.
I need you to meet me down by the Shrieking Shack by eight tonight.. Please come alone and be careful. Don't tell anyone where you're going.
I'll see you soon.
Love always,
Dad"
