(4:40am. The lights turn on, as does the drama)

I walk inside, I had a pair of keys to the house. Mark had given them to me. I walk inside quietly, closing the door behind me. The lights suddenly switch on, a loud gasp escapes my mouth and I turn around. She stands there, her arms folded.

"What are you doing here?," she almost yells. "At this time?"

"I came back home because my car broke down and your house was closer than me and Mark's apartment," I try to explain, the palms of my hands, sweating.

"Why were you even out at this time?," she questions me like she was my mother or something, her tone rude and aggressive. It looked like she hadn't been asleep before this.

"I wanted to grab a dri-"

"You were out drinking? Partying? With who? Does mark know about this?!" She asks in disbelief. Her assumptions piss me off.

"We were out of ice tea.. And all I did was go the freaking mart to go get some, okay?," my teeth grind against each other in anger.

"Are you showing me attitude? You're the one trespassing into my house at this time, I should be calling the cops right now," she says, in a disgusting manner.

"I'm your son's fiancé, going to be your daughter in law, this is my house as much as it is yours," I try to play smart with her as she stands there with her mouth open. I see mark come down, he seemed sleepy. He rubs his eyes as he tries to see more clearly. He sees and rushes to me.

"Hey babe," he picks me up. "Is everything okay?"

"My car broke down and I had to grab a taxi and come here because it was closer," I explain and he hugs me.

"Oh my god babe, you should've called me, I would've picked you up, so horrible you had to go through that," he then pecks my lips.

"Aren't you going to question why she was out at this time?," his mother, as usual, bitches in.

"Uh.. Babe, was there a reason to be out at this time?"

"I was getting peach ice tea because we were out, you know, my favorite," I tell him, as he still carries me in his arms.

"Your favorite? I didn't know peach was your favorite," he says, as he begins to walk.

"Babe I always get it," I say, trying to not act hurt that my fiancé didn't know that was my favorite drink after being together for this long.

"I doubt it, she slipped out she was getting drinks, I think she was getting drunk and partying," his mother, says in vain.

"I'm clearly in no such attire," I look at her with cold eyes, as I get off Mark and point at my sweats.

"Yeah mom, stop being so cold," Mark's tone turns loud and aggressive towards his mom. His mom curses under his breath, giving me a dirty look and walks away in anger.

"You go up, I need to get a drink of water," I kiss Mark and he leaves. I walk towards the kitchen and open the cabinet to grab a water bottle. I hear someone walk in and turn around, as I open the bottle.

"That was no taxi that you came in Audrey, if you think fucking lying in my house works, you're wrong," his mom stands there. "I've seen that man before, he works at the hospital, I believe he was the same man you were talking to in your room that night, I saw him come out, I'm not stupid"

"You're being delusional, that was my uber," I gulp. She knows, she fucking knows something. Now I was scared but I have to act smart instead of scared and stupid.
