(A twisted ankle and coffee. 3:45am)

"I'll see you tomorrow then?", Mark says and I nod.

"Literally they're taking too long, I wouldn't even have to stay over night if they just hurry up", I fold my arms and rest my head back on the hospital bed, as it was in seating position.

"Look at you complaining but also living in such a crowded city and expecting to have high standards", Mark laughs. "Look on the bright side, you'll get amazing services just because you're ankle is pretty badly twisted"

"It's all your fault it's twisted in the first place", I tell him and again, he laughs at me.

"I got to go, the doctor will be here any minute", Mark kisses me. I smile after and he leaves. I sigh and then sit in silence as I wait.

4:24am.

Someone finally walks in. It's a nurse and she begins to prepare a few things before the doctor arrives. A huge smile on her face, even at this time, I could only wonder why.

"At last, someone made an appearance", I say to her and she laughs.

"Don't worry, the doctor is on his way, you just twisted your ankle, it's just a little worse than normal times but it's nothing huge, you're going to be alright", she tells me. Just the sweet talk nurses either forcefully have to say or say because they are just nice. You need to sugar coat your patients so they don't freak out. I wonder how it is with cancer patients, lying and saying it's totally fine, you're totally good is probably not the best thing because most times, let's face it, there's a horrible end to it and people's hearts are broken. Not always though, but most times..

The nurse then leaves and closes the door but there's someone outside, with her. I hear soft faint sounds, of giggles and a man talking. I could literally here the word babe every 5 seconds. I guess the doctor and nurse are more than just colleagues. I hear another giggle and then the door opens. They both walk in, the nurse follows behind the doctor.

I then look up and smile but my smile drops seconds later. Actually my whole brain freezes and I'm out of words. This has to be a joke but I wasn't the only one very uncomfortable here, he, himself stood there in utter silence just staring at me in disbelief. Five fucking years, that's how long I have been enjoying life, until this day and God has decided to make me reunite with a man who I certainly never looked forward to see.

For the first year of being away from him, I would literally pray that everytime I go out, I would never see him. It worked for another 4 years but yeah, I guess today is the day.

"Audrey?..", he finally speaks and his voice hasn't really changed but it has got more manlier. His hair is longer, for all I can see.

"Uh yeah", I awkwardly reply.

"Cassidy, please excuse us for a minute?", He speaks in a loud tone towards the nurse. I was pretty surprised because he wouldn't stop calling her babe a few minutes ago.

"Har- Sir but..-"

"Cassidy.", he says one more time just loud enough for her to shut the hell up, and leave the room. She leaves but giving me a murderous look. I doubt she knew me, I doubt he told her about me but I'm pretty sure she knows something is up.

"It's been long.. 5 years", he lets out a heavy breath and shakes his head in disbelief as he holds his clipboard.

"I thought I was the one that was counting", I reply. A small laugh escapes his mouth, I haven't heard that, well, in five years.
