"Good night, mommy." Kennedy said as she pulled her blanket closer to her.
She was my little girl and Jack was her dad. I was more than proud to say that she's my kid. And so was Jack.
This might sound harsh, but we didn't see Kennedy coming. It was kind of an accident when we were nineteen but I don't ever regret having her.
"Good night, baby." I said while caressing her cheek and kissing her forehead.
Suddenly I felt my food from two hours ago rising and I quickly walked to the bathroom.
This cannot be happening... again. Oh my God.
I walked downstairs and saw Jack watching TV. He noticed me and widened his arms, motioning for me to cuddle him.
I smiled and snuggled up to him. Should I tell him? Of course I do! He's my boyfriend.
Yeah, you might be thinking 'You have a three year old kid and might be expecting a second. Why the hell aren't you married?'
Uh well, I am twenty-two and so not ready for committing myself to Jack. I mean yes, of course I love him. But I guess we're just not ready for marriage. "Babe." I softly said.
"Hmm?"
"What time is it?"
"Uh," he grabbed his phone and checked the time. "9:15. Why?"
"I'm gonna hop by Target for a second. Mind watching Kennedy?" I asked while getting up.
"Oh, what do you need?" He asked.
"Pregnancy tests." I looked at him and left.
*** one year later
"Jack, can you get Kash?" I asked while helping Kennedy up. She tripped and she's crying like crazy. Which made Kash awake, crying.
He walked over to the baby room as I tried to calm down Kennedy. Having two kids was hard, but I also really enjoyed it.
"Positive. Positive. And positive." Jack read out loud. I got three tests and they all said I was pregnant. I sighed and tried to calm myself down.
Was I ready for a second child? "Hey," Jack said as he intertwined our hands. "I'm here. I'll always be here, alright?" He smiled and he looked happier than ever.
"We're gonna have another baby." His smile got even bigger and he tightly hugged me.
"Shh, it's okay baby. You're a very strong girl. Like superwoman, aren't you?" I asked Kennedy as I hugged her. I felt her nod. "Superwomen don't cry, right? Or do they?" I asked pulling back.
"No." She answered simply. "I am not gonna cry. I am Superwoman." She smiled and wiped her tears away.
"Yes you are." I smiled.
Jack walked in with Kash and sat down next to me. "Hey, how are you doing, princess?" He asked Kennedy.
"Don't call me princess, daddy! Call me Superwoman! Because I am strong!" She flexed her arms what made us laugh.
"Alright, Superwoman." He smiled. "Is your little brother going to be Superman?" Jack asked while looking at Kash.
She wildly shook her head. "No, no, no. Kash is going to be the Wolverine!"
"Wolverine? Why?" I asked her confusingly. When did she even see the Wolverine?
"Because he looks cool! And he's funny!"
"You're going to be a tough girl." I laughed. I was glad she thought that way. She also loved Disney, but also had a very superhero/Marvel side, which I was very happy with.
Probably got it from her mom.
"Superwoman and the Wolverine." Jack said and nodded in acceptance. "And who are mommy and daddy?"
"Daddy you are batman and mommy is catwoman!" She squealed happily. I shh'ed her, being afraid Kash will wake up again.
"That sounds great to me." Jack smiled at me. "God, I'm so glad you watched Marvel movies with me." He laughed.
