x HIRA x
I sat at my desk for science class after being gone for a week because of student leadership meetings that I had to attend everyday.
I put my bag on the table and leaned back in my chair, taking the corner spot as I wanted to be next to the window. I'm sure Justin wouldn't mind if I sat here anyway.
The class began filling up and I watched as Justin waltzed in with a wide smile on his face.
I smiled at him as he sat down in my usual seat, not even mentioning where I was sitting. "Guess what, Hira?" He said.
I raised my eyebrows. "I'm actually really curious to find out what's got you so happy." I said with a chuckle and after a two second pause, he pointed. "Her." He said, pointing his finger towards Hailey who had just walked in. "She's got me so happy."
I gasped with wide eyes as I turned around to look at him. "No way." I said and he began nodding his head. "Really?" I asked.
"Yep!" He said, popping the p.
"When?" I asked him.
Hailey and Justin had been talking for a while now and Justin had a liking towards her but he always failed to see that Hailey really liked him too. All of his friends, including me, would always tell him that they were both interested in each other and that their feelings were mutual but he never had enough courage to ask her out and now, he obviously had. She, of course, had obviously said yes.
"Yesterday. We went to watch Finding Dory with her little brother and my cousin and yeah, I just said it and she hugged me and said 'finally'." He said, sighing dreamily and I cooed.
"That's so cute." I told him with a mock-pout.
"Yeah..." He trailed off smiling at her before the smile disappeared and he looked back at me with a straight face expression. "And then she slapped me." He said, causing for me to gasp.
"What?" I spluttered. "Why?"
"She said that it was about bloody time and she's been waiting for a month for me to ask her. Then we had our first argument."
"On the first day of being together?" I asked him with wide eyes, barely holding in my laugh.
He nodded his head. "I started saying that she didn't show me any signs that she liked me and she said she did and blah blah blah. Then we had an argument and then when she was yelling I kissed her to shut her up and yeah, here we are." He smiled.
"Congrats, Justin. You're both perfect for each other." I smiled. "And get married asap." I added with narrowed eyes.
He rolled his eyes. "I'm not Muslim, Hira." He said with a chuckle.
"Christianity's the same, just saying." I said while laughing, raising my hands in a surrender like motion and he released yet another chuckle before Amir spoke up.
"How's it going, bro?" He asked and I looked up towards him, seeing that he was talking to Justin.
"Good, mate. How are you?" Justin spoke as Amir looked at me with no expression.
"Not bad." He muttered before moving his eyes away from me and back to Justin. "Mate, can we switch spots? Like, for the rest of the year?" He asked and I widened my eyes as I looked at him.
"What?" Justin said.
"Yeah, like I sit here and you go sit over there. You can be right behind Hailey." He winked and I shook my head looking out of the window with a smile that I didn't want Amir to see.
