Sarah's change in life

Chapter 10

That night I called Kate and explained everything to her. I told her how my dad and James' mom had gotten James and I back on better terms and how James believed to know who had sabotaged me.

"So who did it?" Kate immediately asked as I finished my story.

"He didn't say, but said he'd prove it at practice just like we had originally planned", I informed her.

"So tomorrow we finally get to learn who has been making your life this miserable?" Kate hinted.

"Yea, I guess so", I sighed. My life had seemed to be turned upside down ever since the incident. I had lost touch with Kate AND forgotten her birthday. I had shut out James, someone who was always looking out for me. And I had lost my captain role. I was so ready to learn who had made this happen.

"Well, we'll just have to wait and see, huh?" Kate asked.

"Yep, I'll meet up with you in the morning," I smiled into the phone.

"Sounds like a plan. Goodnight Sarah", Kate said.

"Goodnight Kate. And thanks for everything. Really, I mean it." I hung up my phone and climbed into bed.

I was so grateful James finally believed me and on top of that he had an idea of who might have sabotaged me. I wish he had told me earlier, but it's better late than never that's for sure.

It took me a while to fall asleep. So many thoughts seemed to be running through my mind. Who had done this? And more importantly why? Why hadn't James told me earlier if he knew?

I decided to text James. It was about 12:30 and I seemed to be getting nowhere in sleeping.

Can't you just tell me who you think and I can help you prove it tomorrow?

He replied a few minutes later.
Why aren't you asleep? And no. This is for you to find out along with everyone else. Now please go to sleep, hun!

I laughed at his reply. How could I fall asleep when so much was on my mind? But I didn't tell James that.
Okay, fine goodnight. (:

It was around 3:15 when I finally started to close my eyes. Sleep was slowly overtaking my thoughts.

When I woke up in the morning I groaned. I was so exhausted. I guess that's what happens when you don't go to sleep at a reasonable time. Nevertheless I jumped out of bed and got ready for school. I was excited to finally solve this crime. I felt like a part if Criminal Minds along with James, Kate, and Mrs. Williams.

I ran downstairs after I had gotten ready. Dad was already gone, but that was alright. Unlike other days, I was happy to see that he had left and knowing that he was at a new job that he loved and enjoyed and as a bonus had a woman he was attracted with there. Everything was finally turning for good in the Burg house.

"Ready?" I asked Nicole and Chris as they came downstairs.

"Yep!" Chris said just as Nicole said "I guess".

We walked out to my car together and I excitedly got ready to go.

"Why are you so happy today?" Chris obliviously asked.

"I'm finally learning something I've been wanting to learn!" I replied with a smile on my face.

"Really? In what class?" Chris asked.

Nicole and I laughed at his response. "Soccer actually".

"Oh that's cool", Chris said and turned his head to look out the window to signal he was done with his conversation.
