Luckily, I didn't find any centipedes. That wasn't very nice, I hate centipedes, and spiders. I stood on the toilet while I dressed, for good measure, then walked out of the bathroom.
Aubrey and Antonio stared at me as I walked to the kitchen.
"What?" I asked, looking through the food Antonio has. The fridge was mostly empty, as was a lot of the cabinets.
"Why are you wearing short shorts?" Aubrey asked, shocked.
Why not?" I replied, finally finding some french bread on the counter.
"Why do you have french bread on the counter?" I asked Antonio.
Antonio shrugged. "You can use it." He said. I picked it up, then looked back in the fridge.
"Short... Shorts..." Aubrey repeated. "And why an apron?"
"Because I'm cooking for you two. Seeing that you finished cleaning, how about you take a bath Aubrey?"
"The apron and shorts are cute, I guess." Antonio said, carefully. I gave him a look, and he turned away.
"Pink.....Apron...." Aubrey called behind the bathroom door.
"Meanie!" I yelled back at him.
I picked out some cold cut ham, then put that and the french bread on the table, along with lettuce, onions, and mayonnaise. I cut the bread, and began to stuff the ham into it.
"What's wrong with what I wear? I can look how I want to, and you can't stop me. At least I'm original, unlike you, who wears basically the same clothes everyday."
In the bathroom, I heard Aubrey shout. Antonio and I looked over at the door.
"Centipede! Ewww!" Aubrey cried out.
I put the finished sandwiches down on the table, along with a bag of chips. We each grabbed one, and began to eat. Antonio turned on the TV, and began to surf channels to see if anything good is on.
"Hey Antonio?" I asked.
"What's up?"
"I'd like to buy some hair dye, can I?"
Antonio finally stopped at a channel, and turned his head to face me.
"Um... sure, course we can go. We could go tomorrow, it's too late now, don't you think?"
I nodded, and laid down on the couch. It has been a long day, and what I really deserve is a good night's sleep. I continued to watch the show for a little bit, slowly drifting off into sleep.
I've had dreams of strange places, I've had them since I first went to college.
I was in one of them. There was a white hallway, along it grey doors. I was walking along that hall, but I didn't feel natural, I felt forced, like a puppet.
I stopped in front of a door, like any other door in the empty hallway. The door, however, unlike the others was a crack open. I opened it, inside...
I paused. Inside was a teenage boy, about fourteen or so. He seemed to be in comatose, there were some thin tubes inserted in him, and a monitor was near at hand. But the monitor did not show a heartbeat, it was like a TV screen, it shown...
I suddenly woke up. Antonio and Aubrey were still up, quietly talking to one another.
"We have a week now, huh?" Antonio asked. "Or else we will have to wait back for another code?"
"And Cody might not even get another code, it'd be risky." Aubrey replied.
"You're going to help me find the entrance, right?"
