We walked into the room together. It was a dim room, lit up by multiple computer screens throughout the room. Only one man was in there, typing on a keyboard.
He must of heard us walk in, because he called to us, while not turning around,
"Doctor! Good news, that hacker seems to have been out of our systems for a while! The other one is still bugging things, but-"
Aubrey walked forward, staring at the monitor. I tiptoed over to look as well.
"How long has this... hacker, been out?" Aubrey asked, in a low voice.
The man on the computer still hasn't turned around.
"Your voice sounds weird, are you sick? Anyways, the hacker who calls himself 'Red Fox' has been out for about three days. The other, 'Blue Fox', has been less active, but still on going. Do you have any idea of what this could be?"
Aubrey continued staring at the screen.
"Pretty interesting, huh? What's your name?" Aubrey asked, not even trying to sound adult.
"My name? My name is Johan, don't you.... Wait.. You are not my boss, are you?"
He finally spun around in his office chair, and gasped.
"You, you! Everyone's looking for you too! What are you doing here!?"
He began to panic a little, squeezing the armrests of his chair.
"What do I do? I need you report you, uh..."
"Johan.." Aubrey said, thinking.
"I had a cousin named Johan, he apparently died in a car accident."
"Aubrey, why are you acting so casual?" I asked, startled by Aubrey's behavior. It is very awkward when Aubrey is weird.
Johan slammed the door shut, and switched on the lights. He then just stared at us.
"Car accident, and he looks an awful lot like my younger sister..." Johan whispered to himself.
Aubrey gave him a look.
"You haven't changed. Help us get out of here."
"What do you mean 'You haven't changed'?! Kid, you are beginning to freak me out..."
"You seem pretty freaked out right now." I said, boredly.
"Your sister is named Jennifer." Aubrey said.
"She has red hair like me, if my hair weren't blue at the moment. She likes to sew and knit, being very skilled."
"How do you know all these things?! Are you a stalker?!"
"Worse." Aubrey said, grinning menacingly.
He slowly approached the terrified man, then whispered.
"I...I am Red Fox."
Aubrey then switched the lights off, opened the door, and pushed the shocked man out the door, slamming the door behind him. Johan screamed, then ran away from the door, probably going to get help.
"Aubrey, what was that all about?" I asked, almost just as startled.
Aubrey smiled at me.
"I used to have a cousin named Johan. He apparently died in a car crash, but it seems that he lives on. I only can't see why he would work here, I believe he's been brainwashed, or something. Poor Johan."
"Poor Johan..." I agreed, looking back to the door.
"Now what?" I asked.
Aubrey sat down in the arm chair, then began to search the computer.
"There should be a map of the place here, with our location on it. If we find the nearest exit to us, we might have a chance of escaping."
"Okay." I said, sitting down on another arm chair.
"I'll help."
I searched my own computer, looking for a map, but all I could find so far is surveillance footage. Footage of the upper floors, inmate's cells, and lab experiments going on.
A couple times, I saw Alex and Xela pace down a hall. Other doctors are rushing around as well. Once I saw Johan seeming to be arguing with another doctor.
"Find anything?" Aubrey asked, staring at his screen.
"Um... Nothing really, just surveillance."
Oh well, I found a 3D map, I just have to see if I could find where we are..."
While Aubrey searched, I continued looking through surveillance.
I paused on one, watching carefully.
Dr. Farsdale walked down the halls. He had his needle still in his right hand, and a couple scalpels in his left. He was making a beeline for the hallway where the cells I was kept in were, me and Cody...
I think Farsdale is coming for Cody, he probably knows Aubrey and Cody's relations.
"Aubrey, we have to go to containment hall 12." I said, still staring at the screen.
"Why? Is there an exit?" Aubrey asked. He quickly found the hall I was looking for on the map.
"Not really, but.."
"We can't waste time Sayoki. We have to get out of here."
"But Aubrey! Cody-"
Aubrey stopped what he was doing, and stared at my computer screen. Dr. Farsdale stared at Cody, as how a hungry cat watches a trapped bird. Cody stood firm, behind the glass.
Aubrey grip on the desk tightened.
"I'll look for a shortcut." He said, looking back though his map. He selected several locations, then finally paused at one.
He calculated in his mind, then turned back to me.
"There is a shortcut... about halfway down the hall from here, there's a staircase that will take us down a couple floors. The next hall should lead straight to Cody."
