I sat with my back resting against the dirty brick wall at the end of the alley way. Pulling my bag in front of me from where it sat beside me, I undo the zipper again and search around in it. I doesn't take long until I find what I'm looking for. i popped some of the pills into my mouth; a red, a blue, a green and yellow. I dry swallow them so I won't use up my bottle of water.
After a while the pills start to take affect. My heart starts pounding and my head starts spinning, suddenly I'm thinking at a million miles an hour.
*flashback 2 months ago*
"Do you realise how serious this is!? You've been charged with assault! This is going to go on your permanent record!" My dad screams at me.
"I know, I know..." I mumble.
"Don't you 'I know' me. You almost killed him! He has permanent injuries because of you! If he hadn't been able to dial 911 before losing consciousness he'd be dead!"
I swallow the lump that's forming in my throat. I can't believe how badly I've fucked up.
*flashback over*
Everything is spinning. the colours keep changing on the walls around me. I go to stand up but I'm just so dizzy. I fall over, hitting my head on the corner of the rubbish bin beside me, nocking me out.

Wait, what's going on? My eyes immediately open and I find myself still lying in the alley and suddenly I remember everything, running away, then sleeping here the night before passing out after taking one too many pills.
I stand up and brush off my knees before checking the time on my phone. It's around midday. I gather my things and start to make my way to the park in the centre of town.
Once there, I collapse onto one of the park benches, watching all the people in the park going about their business. It's funny to think that all these people have their own lives and problems; their own little world which is all they know.

I spend the rest of the day wandering around town, looking in shop windows knowing that there's no way I can buy anything with the little amount of money that I have. Curse not having a job because of my bad records... While exploring I do find out something interesting though. In the window if one of the grocery stores is a poster, encouraging people to help out with the food stall being set up for homeless people. It says they run it every Wednesday, which means there is one tonight at 6pm. Looks like I've found myself dinner for tonight!
