Iris and I enter the palace with Annie and Emmeline closely behind us. I notice that only about half the girls are here. As I'm looking around, I hear a lady giving instructions.
"My name is Silvia and I will be your mentor and instructor," explains the lady. "When I call your name, please head over to the station assigned to you."
I look over at Annie and she gives me a reassuring smile.
"Alice Ford, station nine."
"Iris Charleston, station seven."
Iris gives a small wave and walks over to her station.
"Valerie Norman, station ten."
A girl with long blackish-purple hair walks away.
"Victoria Waters, station two."
"Bye!" waves Emmeline. Annie smiles at me and I walk away.
As I'm walking to my station I hear, "Beatrice Clark, station one." I sigh as I realize she will be sitting right next to me.
I arrive at my station and see what appears to be my stylist.
"Hello! My name is Marco. I'll be your stylist." Marco reaches out his hand and I shake it. He has jet black hair with streaks of red and purple in them.
"Nice to meet you, Marco! I'm Victoria." I greet with a smile.
He returns the smile and says, "Sit, sit! What would you like me to do?"
I shrug. "I guess just do what you think is best," I reply. I then quickly add, "Just don't put on a lot of makeup. I hate makeup."He chuckles. "Alright, then," he says, and then gets started.
"You have amazing hair," he comments, trimming away at the dead ends. I smile as puts it into an elaborate updo. He puts my hair in a low, side bun and leaves pieces hanging out of the bun. The pieces that he leaves out gets curled and then sprayed with hair spray.
After he finishes my hair, he starts on my makeup. He applies a little bit of light pink eye shadow, mascara, and lip-gloss. I look in the mirror and let out a sigh.
"You like it?" he asks.
"I love it," I reply while touching my hair. I turn around and hug him. "Thank you so much!"
"Don't thank me yet!" he responds with a smile and disappears.
He comes back with a beautiful blush pink gown. It has sleeves that go to the elbow and a pink satin belt that ties in the back.
"It's beautiful!" I gush.
"It is, isn't it?" He pause for a moment. "Well, aren't you going to try it on?" he asks.
"Of course!" I say and grab the dress. After I've put the dress on, I come out and twirl in front of Marco.
He claps his hands and says, "You look absolutely stun-"
He is interrupted by a scream. Everyone turns and faces Beatrice as she is looking at the mirror in disgust.
"This is horrible!" she exclaims, motioning to her face. "If I wanted to look like a clown, I would have called the circus!" she yells.
"I'm sorry, miss, I-" stammers her stylist.
"No! Just leave! I'll do it myself!" she huffs and sits back down. She begins to do her own makeup while the stylist sheepishly walks out of the room. When she reaches the door, she breaks into a sprint, tears spilling down her face.
