Tyler's POV
A week pased since the accident. I was visiting Naomi everyday, sitting next to her until late at night. Once, I was there so long that they kicked me out and suggested sleeping because I will end in a hospital like her.
I barely eaten, just a sandwich for breakfast and some trash food for dinner. All I wanted to do is to be near Naomi in case she wakes up.
Three days ago, the doctor said that people can hear while beeing under a coma. I can't even imagine how is it to be in this state. You can't move, you can't see but you hear everything.
I did a research and found out that some people are under a coma for a few days, other for a few years. And there's still a chance of not waking up. This scares me the most.
I'm sitting on a chair by a hospital bed. I always tell her about my day and how I miss her. I know I'm selfish but maybe it will make her choose to stay.
Of course I understand if Naomi wants to be with her parents. It's unbelivable that she lost them so early. But I'd rather have her near me. save and sound.
Naomi's POV
I have no idea how long I have been in this state. All I can see is a black nothing, I can't move or talk. It feels like I'm asleep.
But, surprisingly, I can hear. A male voice always wakes me up. I somehow recognize it but I don't know who it belongs to. The person usually holds my hand and tells me about his day. I wonder who he is.
He calls me Naomi so I guess that's my name.
I already tried to open my eyes or move but I just can't. I'm trapped.
I hear somebody enter the room.
''Good afternoon, sweetheart.'' - the stranger says.
''Hello.'' - I want to respond. Unfortunately, I'm not able to do it.
''It's been so long. Please, wake up.'' - he begged.
''I can't!'' - I shout as loudly as I can but nothing comes out.
I scream until my throat is dry.
Suddenly, I see a blinding light. I take a sharp breath, bipping sound overwhelming me. I blink a couple of times. I look at a man sitting besides me with widened eyes.
''Na- Naomi?'' - he stutters taken aback.
He quickly gets up and embraces me tightly. Who does he think he is?
''Don't touch me!'' - I wince and pull back. He stares at me like I've grown a second head.
Doctors rush into the room.
''You have to leave.'' - a nurse pushes him out. There's sadness written all over his face.
''How do you feel?'' - someone asks me.
''Tired. Confused.''
''What is your name?''
''Naomi?'' - it comes more like a question than a statement.
''Do you remember anything about the accident?''
''What?'' - I am shocked.
She tells me that I fell down and lost consciousness. I had a slight concussion. Unfortunately, I have an amnesia.
They ran some tests to see if everything is alright.
''Your memories should be back in a week.''
''Oh, I nearly forgot. There's this boy, Tyler, I believe. He was there for you everyday. I know that you don't recognize him but try to talk a bit. Maybe it will help you remember.'' - a nurse told me.
''Yeah. Can I go now?'' - she led me to the man who is sitting in a waiting room with head in his hands.
''I'll leave you alone so you can talk.'' - he quickly looks up on me, hope in his deep blue eyes.
''Hey. You're Tyler, right?''
''Yes. I'm glad that you woke up, Naomi.'' - he has a small smile on his face. There is an awkward silence between us.
''Listen, I'm really sorry that I don't recognize you.'' - I say honestly.
''That's not your fault. No need to be sorry.''
''The nurse said that talking should help. Can you tell me something about us?''
''We met on your first day here in London. I helped you carry the luggage. Mine apartment is next to yours. You work in 'Koohii Cafe'. You also told me that you lost your parents when you were sixteen.''
He tells me about my life. I actually remember a few things, now. But I still have no idea who he is.
We decided to meet as soon as I will be released which is tomorrow. I have to stay in the hospital so they will be sure I'm healthy.
''So, see you tomorrow.'' - Tyler said happily. He turned to leave.
''Wait!'' - I throw my hands over his neck and hug him. He is surprised at first but quickly embraces me with his strong arms and places his chin on top of my head.
''I'm glad that you stayed with me for all those days. I will try to bring back my memories about you.'' - I smile.
''And I'm glad that you decided to wake up.'' - he looks at me grinning.
''Bye, Tyler.'' - I say and head to the hospital room.
I fall asleep thinking about those mesmerizing eyes.
