♡ASHLEY EEVERDEEN♡
"Babe, are you hungry?" Megan asks me sleepily. I couldn't sleep because of those dreaded headaches. I kept Megan awake for the whole night and I still don't think I can sleep.
"Yeah, dying of it." I reply. some lady comes into my ward right at the 'dying of it' moment.
"Dying of what? Is it the headache? Or are you just plain hungry?" She asks, coming and doing my daily leg and arm check up. My leg is not that badly injured as my left arm.
"Apparently, both." I say.
"Your ankle has made great recovery dear, just like your ribs." She says.
"Something even happened to my ribs!?" I almost yell.
"Yeah, just got hit in the accident." She says.
"What accident, I still don't know. Did the car just break through my room upstairs?" I ask.
Megan laughs tiredly at my joke.
"You won't remember due to the concussion." The lady says.
"You helped me get better and I still don't know your name." I say thoughtfully.
"Oh that? I'm Charlotte, your nurse." She says.
"Oh hello, Charlotte my nurse!" I say.
She just shakes her head at me. "Now just try moving your ankle and tell me if it pains." She says.
I turn my ankle in clockwise direction, then anti-clockwise. "Nope. It feels quite fine," I say, "Charlotte my nurse." I say teasingly.
She merely ignores me and moves to my left arm. "I can't checkup on your arm, because the injury is too bad. Let the doctor do that one. All I can ask is, is the arm resting enough according to you?" She says.
"Yeah, I suppose." I say.
"Great. The doctor will be coming in no time." She says, gives me a small smile and leaves me and Meg alone in the ward.
The door is pushed open by the doctor after some solid ten minutes.
"Good morning Ashley! Had enough rest last night?" He greets.
"Not actually." I answer truthfully.
"Because of the headache, I suppose." He says. I nod. "But still Ashley, you need lots of rest and also lots of excercise for your brain. Its mandatory." The doctor states seriously.
"Yes doc!" I salute him sincerely.
He just shakes his head with a laugh and turns to my left arm.
"Let me see how's your arm. Try pulling your arm up slowly." He orders. I do as I'm told.
I raise my arm slowly and steadily, careful not to hurt myself.
"Did it hurt?" The doctor asks as soon as my hand is raised above my head.
"Not really. But it was difficult to move it with a plaster on." I say.
"Don't worry, we will be getting it off after your lunch, when we have taken your arm's x-ray. Fine with that?" He asks. I nod again.
The doctor is about to leave the room when he asks one last question. "If you hadn't had your breakfast, ask your nurse, she'll get it for you, okay?" He says, smiles, and leaves.
"Yes." I answer even though he's gone.
I press the buzzer and after a few minutes Charlotte my nurse enters the room.
