***Chapter 47***
*Jace's pov*
I breathe in a shaky breath. It's been a long time since I've been nervous for a concert, but this one will determine my future with Serenity. I eye the lyrics to the new song again and I feel my heart beat radically; her psychotic dad better be pleased. Adrian Lunic used to be my role model, but now I see him as an obstacle between Serenity and I.
"You ready?" Usui sits down next to me. We're backstage now, hearing the familiar roar of fans. Right now a new band is playing. Serenity will go on in forty minutes or so; I can just picture her freaking out like me.
"Hardly." I reply to Usui, he laughs.
"It will be fine." He assures me; I sigh and look over at Blake where he is talking to Lake. It is still strange knowing he's bi, but I can accept it. His personality hasn't changed at all and he'll always be one of my best friends.
"Usui, I'm so nervous." Liz pops out from one of the rooms, where Serenity and her are suppose to be getting ready. She stalks toward Usui, her face pale.
"It'll be fine, you guys are great." Usui responds with a smile. I look impatiently at the door where Serenity is, when will she be ready? While I'm looking at the door, Sky confidently walks in with a bag. My eyes widen in shock; what the hell. Serenity could be naked.
I get off the couch and walk in as well. Serenity jumps in shock when she sees me; Sky just looks at me impassively.
"Hey Jace!" Serenity replies, laughing nervously, but fully clothed; I raise a brow in questioning.
"Well I'll go see it Zelliot is ready." Sky announces and walks out. I close the door and look at the bag Serenity is hiding behind her back.
"So..."I begin, waiting for her to explain her nervousness. She sighs and hands me the bag.
"Open it." She tells me. I look down at the huge black, plastic bag. I open it and pull out a guitar. My breath catches at how awesome it is! I probably look like a kid getting transformers for Christmas. I look at the sweet looking, silver snake wrapping around my name and the blue and black tints to the guitar. I am shocked; I don't think anybody has given me such a badass present before.
I look up to see Serenity analyzing my expression; I smile radiantly and put the the guitar down. I then hug her tightly," Its amazing. Thanks so much. I lov-" I stop myself, shocked at what I was going to say. I can't tell her that yet. "Thanks." I say again.
"Glad you liked it." She says.
"I loved it." I reply and bend down to catch her lips with mine. I kiss her deeply and suddenly I don't feel nervous anymore. No matter what happens tonight, I won't let her dad seperate us.
I pull away and lay my forehead against hers.
"Are you nervous?" I ask her, looking into her light brown eyes.
