Chapter 7: Spark of Love:
Billy stumbled out of the citadel lucky for him it was still unguarded. He ran to the plaza and soon enough Jason and Rebecca regrouped with him. Billy was shaking, eyes wider than baseballs, shaking as if he was dipped in ice. "Billy? What's wrong with you boy? "Jason said. Billy just shook his head in denial. It couldn't be true, why is it true, he was starting to get dizzy. Billy just stared at the two and gave Jason his camera. "The picture speaks for itself." Billy said in a very disgusted tone. "We'll see when we get back, can't risk getting caught here and the guards are starting to give us suspicious looks." Said Jason. So without another word the three made there way back to the countryside and to the hidden base of the Regainers.
"Let's develop these pictures" Said Jason. What followed were shock, fear, and confusion from Jason and Rebecca. Jason dropped to his knees. The pictures of the reconstructed Oliver Orvil came up and it brought nothing more than confusion and discouragement. "You're kidding?! After all we've been through, now the man get's revived and now stronger?!" Jason shouted. He was starting to loose hope. "It's not over Jason, we can still fight! We have all the resources we need!" Billy said with confidence. "Crimson confronted me shortly after the discovery. He said the gun was all I needed, it was the only way to kill him." Jason stood up, eyes wide. "That's it!" He shouted "It makes perfect sense; if you killed him with the gun surely you can do it again! Its bullets can penetrate anything. Crimson told me!" "Getting to him will be the hard part though" Said Rebecca "We have the means to attack him but how do you propose we get to him?" "It'll be tough" Said Jason "We have the Regainers and you too will help as well. We have a lot of preparation though. The S.M.A.R.T. bots in particular will be our main concern. In order to disable their attacks the boys down in the lab have developed a device that jams their auto-targeting functions as well as their motion sensors. At that point we just need to get close enough to them and place this on their chest, that'll wipe em' clean." Jason then pulled out some sort of bomb. "It's called a Gooey Bomb." He continued "It sticks to anything and detonates after a small period of time or with its appropriate device. The boys downstairs worked for hours to prefect its explosive capabilities. We'll sweep armies of bots with these. Although there are a good number of foot soldiers to block our paths. We just have to be lucky with this, its hit and miss." Jason approached Billy and Rebecca and hugged them. "If we fail, I just want you guys to know that I loved working with you two, although we barley knew each other, you remind me a lot of my kids. Don't ever give up, we're almost there." Jason said with a smile of hope. "Well, it's getting kind of late. Lets rest; we have a whole day of preparation tomorrow." Said Billy. The three nodded to each other and they all went to sleep one last time before they would be subjected to constant working. Billy couldn't sleep though. He kept thinking about his parents. How Oliver brutally murdered them. Billy start to cry softly. He never got the chance to tell them how much he loved them. The thoughts clung to his brain like a tumor and no matter how much he wanted to forget, the memories find their way back to his head. Was it a curse? Was it the fire that kept his rage towards Orvil lit? Who knows? Billy didn't know. He eventually got tired and went to sleep not before looking at Rebecca on the other side of the room. "She's the only family I have left..." Billy thought to himself. "I can't loose her. Not yet. I never want to. There's no one else like her." He continued "Mom and Pop are dead; whining about it won't bring them back. I know they're in heaven watching over me. Save a spot for me, your angel will be there soon. Don't cry, I'm still here with you to matter what." Billy chuckled; he was talking to himself, well to everyone else's ears.
Morning came with a bitter sweet sun. "At least the sun and sky looked the same" Billy said to himself. Soon everyone else woke up. It was time to work. In order to stop Orvil the Regainers had to prepare and they did just that for the next week, they trained for what was going to come, war was coming and with all it's horrors. Rebecca trained in athletics and soon enough she was well trained and could handle a gun without ease also her self confidence grew, Billy was pretty impressed by her progress. Jason worked on his machines and soon made a battle suit that was just as strong as a S.M.A.R.T, maybe even stronger. Billy also improved in his gun handling techniques. Jason trained him how to use Crimson's gun. Day after day they trained and prepared. Crimson stood in the back and watched them all; He was invisible to everyone but Billy and Jason. They would pop a hello here and there but they were focused on the task at hand. Crimson just stood there and smiled a strange and eerie smile. Little did the trio as well as the other Regainers knew was that Evil was also busy.
