Chapter 8: Monster Reborn:

Weeks later the "experiment was over and Orvil began to breath once more.

"It feels good to be alive again." Oliver said in an eerie mechanical tone. "Vector's upgrades look nice as well." Oliver took a cigar and lit it and stuck it in the flesh part of his mouth. "Billy still breaths which is a problem. Dire measures must be made to ensure the heroes death... yes, the hero." Orvil made a mechanical and evil laugh. "I realize now that he was a lot more trouble than expected. I saw him take pictures of me like I was some fancy piece of art. Too bad I couldn't slay him there, his reaction was priceless." Suddenly a shadowy figure came up from behind Oliver. "He has the gun though, you don't stand a chance" The figure said in an eerie tone. "I helped you come back to us, now you need to find a way to slay him." Oliver laughed some more. "Well, what am I gonna do? You have a connection to him; tell me, how do you propose I stop him? The boy won't get anywhere near to me." The figure laughed "You must've of forgotten..." Said the figure. "Looks to me he had no problem going right into your face and taking pictures of you." Orvil grunted. "Well, with "friends" like these, he wouldn't dare go near me again without having his head cooked like burnt toast." Oliver lifted his hand and it changed shaped and was now a laser cannon. He laughed. He changed he other hand into a flame thrower and shot flames and scorched a picture of Billy located across the room. "Pity, Billy was one of my best workers, I thought that picture of me and him was a sign we would be partners." Oliver said "Alas, it seems that he would dare betray me. Hmmm, I'm used to it though." Orvil looked out the window on the burnt out capital of Vilfor. "Family never loved me. All they ever did was argue, day and night, they would fight even over the stupidest things. I always tried and stopped them but what followed was a bruise from my father and a disheartening insult from my mother." Oliver punched the wall. "Then one day, my pops got into another argument with my mom, he struck her with all his might and cracked her neck. ("You see son, only the strong survive, your mother wasn't anything close"). His words got to me; I couldn't stop thinking of that. Night and day it slowly made sense. I had a lot of friends back in school. I even had a lovely girlfriend who I was engaged with. Life seemed to treat me well still though; I was keeping in mind what my father said. One day, I came home only to find out that my fiancée was cheating on me. So I told her she was a weak worthless piece of trash and I pushed her out of the window were she fell and smashed her head on the concrete below. Her partner? Did the same to him. It was that point that I realized what my dad meant. They were weak, the weak betray the strong." Orvil chuckled and lit another cigar with his blow-torch arm. The figure laughed in a strange laugh, he said in a familiar voice, "Don't forget. The hero at work, he surely wants you dead after you murdered his parents. He will stop at nothing to get you." "You don't have to tell me again" Said Oliver. "Besides, Vector's upgrades are done; the last thing he'll do is let Billy get to me." As Orvil was speaking a shadowy figure in the back of his throne was walking towards the two. Making mechanical wailing sounds and loud thuds as it took it's steps. It led out a roar which made Oliver smile and he laughed an evil mechanical laugh. He laughed so hard that you could hear the cold bolts in his black heart rattle with each passing breath. "
