A Human and a Turtle *ON HOLD*

Chapter 2

Canaan worked up from her phone. She groaned and looked for it. When she found it she looked at the caller I.D. It said unknown, but she answered it anyway.
"Hello." She said drowsy.
"Wakey wakey Canaan!" Said a energetic voice. Canaan knew who it was.
"Morning Mikey."
"Morning are you coming to visit today?" He asked. Canaan never planned on anything since it was Spring Break.
"Sure. Send me the map of the sewers and I'll be there in a few." Canaan answered.
"Alright bye Canaan." Mikey said happily again. Canaan chuckled.
"Bye Mikey." Canaan hung up and went downstairs to the kitchen. She grabbed and energy bar and found note of the counter.
"I'm sorry I didn't see you yesterday. I had to work overtime. I'm at work now so I won't be home for awhile. Hugs and kisses. Love auntie." Canaan crumbled up the paper and threw it away. She ate the energy bar and went back upstairs. She looked at her phone and saw that Mikey sent her the map of the sewers. She sat the phone back down and and went to take the shower. When she got out of the shower she wrapped a towel around her and look for some clothes. She put on classic blue jeans, a plain red tight fitted short sleeves shirt tucked in her jeans, and black sneakers. Her hair was out bad about. She grabbed her black leather jacket, her small marron bookbag, and her iPhone and walked out of her apartment. She went to the nearest manhole and jumped in it without being seen. She then closed it behind her. She opened the image of the map and began to follow. When Canaan made to the lair she saw Mikey playing video games.
"Hey Mikey." Mikey look at her. He them ran to her and hugged her.
"You came!" Mikey gave her a death grip hug. Canaan pushed Mikey away.
"Yeah I did." Leo then came in.
"What are you doing back so soon?" He gave her a quzzical look.
"What you don't like having me around?" Canaan teased.
"N-no it's not that it's just..."
"I invited her." Mikey hugged her again.
"Yeah yeah. Now quit hugging me." Canaan pushed Mikey away... again. Leo then walked up to her.
"Do you want to want to watch space hero?" He asked.
"No fair. I want to play video games with her." Mikey complained. Canaan rolled her eyes. She decided to walk around there lair. She saw Raph feeding Spike.
"Hey Raph." Canaan said.
"Hey." Raph glanced at her, and went back to feeding his pet turtle. Canaan then gently pat Spike on his head.
"Hey Spike. Miss me?" She asked the turtle. He munched on his lettuce leaf. Canaan took that as a yes. Raph looked at her. Once she looked back at him he quickly looked away. She then went to Donnie's lab.
"Hey Donnie."
"Hey Canaan."
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Fixing the shellrazor." Canaan walked around it and walked in. She was amazed how one turtle could do all this. She then hopped out of the shellrazor into the dojo. There was a big tree in the center of the room, and weapons on the wall. Canaan walked up to a wall and grabbed a pair of Sai's. She didn't know how to use them, she just wanted to mess with them. As she was trying to spin them a voice startled her.
"What are you doing?" Canaan dropped one of the sai and turned around to see Raph.
"Um... I'm a..." She blushed in embarssement. Raph laughed. He walked up to her and picked up the sai.
"This is how you spin it." Raph started to spin it. Canaan did the same thing.
"There you go." Raph told her. Canaan laughed and stopped. She put the sai away.
"Thanks Raph." She thanked him with a smile.
"No problem. You learn fast for a beginner." Raph smirked at her. They stayed in the room in silence. After that awkward moment they both walked back to the others. Everyone was sitting down waiting on them, but a new face was there. It was a young teenage girl. The girl turned around and looked directly at Canaan. Canaan's eyes widen when she saw her high school friends. April O'Neil.
"O..." Canaan said.
"M..." April said.
"G!" Both of them scream as they ran to eachother. They both gave each other a hug. The guys just watched them.
"I wouldn't imagine that you would be down here." April said. They stopped hugging each other.
"Me either." Canaan answered. They both looked at the guys.
"Do they know where friends?" Canaan asked. April shooked her head.
"We're high school friends." April told the guys. Everyone relaxed a little. Canaan explained how she met the turtles and so did April. After all that Canaan watched April and the turtles train. She sat underneath the tree and watched them train. She watched as Master Splinter instructed them to do something. Then they all got into a group and talked about something. They then looked at Canaan.
"Canaan can you come here for a second?" April asked. Canaan got suspenion, but went to them anyway. When she got closer to April she saw a creepy smile on her face.
"What is it, April?" Canaan asked. April grabbed her arm and flipped her, but Canaan twisted her arm around and put her in a armlock.
"Okay okay uncle." April said. Canaan let her go.
"Why was you trying to flip me?" Canaan asked.
"Master Splinter told me to practice that technique with someone who would suspected it." She answered.
"But I suspected it from the beginning." Canaan told April. Master Splinter rumbled his beard.
"That's enough training for today." He said. Everyone cheered. They guys walked in front of April and Canaan.
"Canaan May I have a word with you?" Master Splinter asked. April and Canaan looked at each other.
"Go on ahead I'll catch up." Canaan told her.
"Okay." April ran off with the guys. Canaan went up Master Splinter.
"Yes Master Splinter?" She asked.
"Where did you learn to go against seunoga?" He asked.
"Oh my parents are bussiness men and we travelled, so when I was in Japan I learned a few things." She answered.
"Interesting. Very well I would like to train you to be a kunoichi with April. If you would like?" Master Splinter offered. Canaan smiled.
"I would gladly accept your offer Master Splinter."
"Alright. We'll start your training tomorrow." Master Splinter said walking to the meditation room. Canaan walked towards the other direction where everyone was at. When she got to the main room everyone was sitting down waiting for her.
"I'm back." Canaan said happily.
"Why are you so happy?" Raph asked.
"Why you ask, because Master Splinter is going to teach me how to be a kunoichi." She smiled.
"Alright!" Mikey and April cheered. Canaan smiled until her phone ranged. She sighed when she saw the I.D. Number.
"I got to take this. I'll be right back." Canaan walked away from everyone.
"Hello." She answered the phone.
"Hello Canaan. How are you?" It was here mom.
"Fine." She answered emotionless.
"That's great. Listen me and your father aren't coming home, until 4 more days."
"But you promise you'll be home tomorrow!" Canaan yelled.
"I know, but something came up. I'm really sorry Canaan. When we get there we'll make it up to you. I promise." Her mom told her.
"Don't make promises that your not going to keep." Canaan said in a dark tone. She then hung up on her mom. She then went back to everyone.
"What's wrong Canaan?" Donnie asked.
"My parents promise to come home tomorrow, but they have to stay in India for 4 more days." She said sadly.
"Do they always travel?" Leo asked.
"Yeah. When I was little they practically took me everywhere, but now that I'm older they left me here in New York. So I'm living with my Aunt." Canaan looked at the time.
"I got to now." Canaan walked to the exit way.
"Okay..." Leo said.
"Bye Canaan!" Everyone said, but Raph.
"Bye." She waved to them. Canaan walked throught the sewers teary eyed.
'They promised.' She thought. When Canaan got to her apartment she went straight to her room. She started to cry into her pillow. She never like to cry, but at times she felt that her family doesn't care about her. It wasn't long 'til she fell asleep. Later on that night she heard something. She opened her eyes slightly and looked around. When her eyes looked at the window they widen. Raph was at the window knocking at it. Canaan got out of bed and went to the window. She opened it and stared at Raph in disbelief.
"What are you doing here? It's..." She took a quick look at her alarm clock. "12:35 in the morning."
"Come with me." He grabbed her hand and dragged her to the room top. "Have you seen the stars at night?" He asked.
"No... Why?" Canaan asked when they got to the room top.
"Look." Raph pointed at the sky. Canaan looked up and saw billions of stars.
"Wow!" She exclaimed. They where shining brightly and beautifully in Canaan's eyes, and created a smile on her face. Raph smirked at her reaction. After the moment of adoring the stars Canaan looked at Raph.
"Why did you come here to see me?" She asked. Raph looked at her and back at the sky"I couldn't sleep." He answered. Canaan didn't buy that.
"And..." She continued him on.
"And I saw how sad you was when your parents broke their promise, so I came to cheer you up." Canaan smiled.
"Thanks Raph." Raph looked at her and smiled.
"No promblem."
"But you really need to get back before someone realizes that your misses, and we both have training tomorrow." Canaan knowledge.
"Your probably right. Night Canaan." Raph said running and jumping rooftop to rooftop.
"Night." She whispered before going back inside. She got back into bed and went back to sleep.
