''Dave...DAVE...DAVE HUXLEY! Get out of the shower right now!'' I hear my mother yell from downstairs. I sigh and turn of the shower. I shiver as I step out of the shower because of the cold temperature. I quickly grab my towel and wrap it around me. Suddenly my mother appears behind me out of no where. I let out a loud shriek and accidentally drop my towel. ''You need to hurry up Dave, we got to go shopping for your supplies.'' My mother says as she waves her and around. As she waves her wand the towel lifts from the floor and starts drying me off while the clothes I planned on wearing today float into the bathroom and start pushing onto me . ''Mom, I can get dressed myself, without magic.'' I say as I grab one of my socks out of the air and bend over to put it on. 'My mother chuckles. ''I know, but we're in a hurry.'' She say while still waving her wand around.

''There.'' My mother says when I'm finally dressed. ''Are you ready to go now. I sigh and roll my eyes. ''No mom, I need to do my hair first.'' I say as I walk over to the bathroom mirror. My mother sighs as well before walking passed me out of the bathroom. ''Just hurry up!'' She yells before waving her wand again, making the towel float over to the washer.

Ten minutes I skip down the stairs with a cheerful smile on my face. It just dawned on me that I really got accepted to Hogwarts. I really am a wizard after all. As I enter the living room I can see my father and my brother watching TV while my mother is cleaning up the table. There is still one plate on the tale with a breakfast wrap on it. I see the Hogwarts letter laying next to it. The seal is broken and the supplies list lays beside the envelope. My mother smiles as she notices I've come downstairs. "Quick, eat your breakfast. We should get going soon.'' My mother says as she moves past some dishes floating into the dishwasher. I nod, sit down and start eating my breakfast.

I barely ate the last bite or my mother already pulls me to my feet. ''We're leaving!'' She yells at my brother and father. The both wave absentmindedly. ''But, I wanted to call Donna to tell her I got accepted to Hogwarts.'' I say while pulling my arm our of my mothers grip. ''No time, you can do that when we get back.'' My mother says before pulling me out the front door.

"This. Is. Incredible.'' Is the only thing I can say as I enter Diagon alley. There are witches and wizards of all sizes everywhere. ''This is Diagon alley. Where do you want to go first?'' My mother asks. I shrug while still looking around me at all the interesting things. My mother smiles happily and pulls me towards a small shop with 'Ollivander's' on it. She opens the door and pushes me towards the counter. A boy about my age with dark hair appears from behind the counter first, gives the man who appears behind him some gold and walks out the door. ''Stephan, how are you?'' My mother asks as she offers her hand to the an behind the counter. The man looks at my mother happily and shakes her hand. "Ah, It's been a while since I met someone who knew my father.'' The man says as he shakes my mothers hand.

Suddenly mother and the man in front of her look sad. ''Yes, it was quite tragic what happened to him.'' My mother says. The man nods. ''Anyway, who is this little man.'' The man says as he bends over the counter and offers me his hand. I shake it and smile at him. ''I a-'' ''This is Dave, my son.'' My mother says. I sigh. ''Mom, I can talk you know.'' I say. My mother chuckles. ''Yes I know.'' She says as she pushes me forward a bit more. ''It's not hard to see what kind of wand would fit you.'' The man says before disappearing into the back.

Seconds later he returns with two boxes. I reach out to them but the man suddenly pulls them behind his back. ''One or two?'' The man asks. I raise my eyebrow. ''Come on, think about it. One...or two.'' The man says. I tilt my head and think really hard. ''Right.'' I say eventually when I point at the man's right hand. The man chuckles and pulls a box from behind his back. ''You'v got a smart kid there. No doubt he'll get into Ravenclaw without any problem.'' The man says as he hands me the box. I carefully take of the lid and look at the black and white wand. ''It's a poplar wood wand with a unicorn hair core. 14 and a half inches, not flexible.'' The man says as he bows over a large book in front of him. ''Dave Huxley was it?'' He asks. I nod. My mother hands the man some gold. ''Happy doing business with you, Dave Huxley.'' The man says. I smile at him. ''Nice to meet you too sir.'' I say before following my mother outside.

"Let's pick up your school books now.'' My mother says. I nod. ''Yes, let's go.'' I say as I follow her.

''Dave...DAVE...Dave Huxley! We've been in this bookstore for the past hour or so. I think it's time to go.'' My mother says. ''But I haven't seen all the books yet.'' I whine. Suddenly my mother grabs my ear and pulls my out of the comfy chair I was sitting in. ''Dave Huxley, I've already picked up your clothes, your cauldron and I've shopped for myself. It's time to go pick out a pet and go home to pack up.'' My mother says while pulling me out of the store by my ear while I'm continually yelping because of the stinging pain in my ear.

Once we finally reach the pet shop my nostrils immediately get attacked by the scent of fecal matter. ''Mom, it's stinks in here.'' I say as I squeeze my nose closed. My mother chuckles. ''Just pick a pet quickly then I suppose.'' She says. I sigh and wander around the shop for a few minutes till my eyes meet the bright blue ones of a lonely white owl. I push away a sleeping red cat and walk over to the white owl and stare at it. It stares straight back at me for multiple seconds till I offer my arm to it and it hops onto it. I smile and softly pet the owl's head. ''I'm gonna call you Flakey.'' I say as I feel the soft feathers on my hand. ''Dave!? Have you found one yet?!'' I Hear my mother yell through the store. I chuckles. ''Yeah mom!'' I yell back. ''I did.'' I say as I smile happily at the white owl on my arm.
