Your Perfection
Your hair was as bouncy as a jumping castle,
I miss playing with it.
Your eyes were as mesmerizing as the sun,
Impossible not to look at,
Engaged in a staring contest once you'd glance.
Your slim, tall body was safer than a mother's arms,
Perfectly suited to mine.
Your smile was beautifully contagious,
But not easily earned.
Your cheeks were softer than a pillow,
Cuter than a babe.
Your talent went beyond the regular,
Exceeded the Greats.
Your determination was impeccable,
Unique to you.
Your kindness was unbelievable.
Willing to pretend,
So to spread positive emotions even for a moment.
Your teases made me laugh on my darkest days,
Those days I would lay down and cry.
You brightened the darkness, if only a little while.
My smiles belonged solely to you,
Because all the others were fake.
Your encouragement breathed life into me,
Making me live.
Your attentive tendencies made you trust-worthy,
Someone I could count on.
Your respect made me feel as if my oxygen really wasn't wasted.
Your words made me proud, knowing it was I who taught you them.
Our competitions made me scream in agony as you would defeat me,
On the inside, my heart shone brighter than all the stars.
Your loneliness was compatible with mine.
Together, we became a duo,
No longer captives to our solitude.
Silently, but cleverly, feelings formed.
Your thoughts were quicker than mine.
You saw our path, long before I ever opened my eyes.
That didn't stop you from guiding me through it,
Even though you knew it would only make it harder for me, in the end.
Your love was all I had ever wanted,
Right there, in my arms.
The more you gave, the more I craved,
Until I realized you had never fully given me what I needed,
Your heart.
