chapter 5

I woke up to the sound of my alarm . I groaned and turned my alarm off and put my pillow over my head . Ryder got out of bed . "come on Avery get up ." I yawned . "ugh fineee" I said and slowly got up . It was Monday morning . I haven't seen Blake since Saturday night . I hope I don't run into him again I thought as I was brushing my teeth . When I finished I washed my face and put mascara on . I walked back to my room . Ryder was already dressed so he walked to the kitchen to get something to eat . there's was a knock on the door and I knew it was Shawn . I looked threw my closet and picked out a white adidas shirt some light jean shorts and my adidas superstars . when I was done getting dressed i grabbed my backpack than went back to the bathroom and put my hair up in a ponytail . I walked to the kitchen and saw Shawn and Ryder eating cereal . I grabbed a bowl and a spoon and sat down . I poured some Cinnamon Toast Crunch and milk in my bowl and started eating . "ugh I don't want to go to school" I said . Shawn laughed "same man" "oh my god I forgot to do Ms Aaron's homework!" I said freaking out . "you can copy mine during lunch don't worry " Shawn said taking a bite of his cereal . "dude thanks l your a real one " I smiled . Ryder got up and washed his bowl and spoon . "I'm gonna go to Lily's house " he said "okay have fun at school love you" I said "love you too" he said and grabbed his backpack and walked outside . Lily normally gave him a ride to school because they went in later than us since me and Shawn were in high school and they were in middle school . "we should leave right now" Shawn said as he washed his bowl . "okay" I got up and washed my bowl too . We put the cereal && milk away and than grabbed our backpacks . "do you have gum ?" I asked as we walked out the door . "yea" he reached on his backpack and got some gum and handed one to me . "thanks man" "no prob" he said .

-- at school --
I sat down next to Shawn in my first period class . we both had 1st , 3rd 4th and 6th together so that was pretty much all our classes . Abbie walked in right before the bell rang and sat in front of me and Shawn next to out other friend Janelle . Our math teacher Mr. G took attendance than told us to get our math books out . as me and Shawn went to get our books out Abbie turned around .  "hey guys" she said quietly . "oh hi" I rolled my eyes and opened to the page on the board . Shawn just ignored her . "guys look I'm sorry for what happened on Friday..." "Abbie just stop okay I don't want to talk about it"  Shawn said annoyed . "....okay " she slowly turned around . Janelle turned around and looked at us confused but Shawn mouthed "tell you later" and she nodded . just than my phone vibrated . I pulled it out of my pocket and looked it was Jack J

Jack  : hey I'm bored
me : aren't you supposed to be in school lol

I laughed a little out loud . "Avery is there something you'd like to share with the class " Mr G said . "oh no sorry " I blushed and shawn looked at me and laughed a little . Mr G went on teaching . "who are you talking to ?" Shawn whispered to me . "Jack J" I smiled and whispered back "ooh girl get some" Shawn smirked at me and i rolled my eyes . Jack replied

JJ  : yea but were not doing anything important rn lol
me : same . Abbie is sitting in front of us and Shawn's still pretty mad about what happened on Friday . have you talked to Nash ? he seemed pretty mad too .
JJ  : no I havent talked to Nash yet . he did seem mad I was surprised .
me : me too I don't know why he was .
JJ  : so did you talk to your boyfriend ?
me: ..yea
JJ  : how'd it go ?
just than Shawn elbowed me . "stop" I said and rolled my eyes but I ignored him .
me : um I don't really want to talk about it .
JJ : ....okay
I heard someone clear there throat next to me so I looked up from my phone and saw my teacher standing next to me . He put his hand out for my phone . I sighed and turned my phone off and handed it to him . "thank you and you can get this after school in the office" he smiled . "okay " I muttered . Shawn laughed at me and I rolled my eyes "shut up" I said laughing a little " I tried to warn you" he said laughing . "yea I know" I smiled at him . the bell finally rang and we all got up and left . "ugh I can't believe he took my phone away " I rolled my eyes and me and Shawn and Janelle walked to our second period . Abbie had hers the opposite way from us and Janelle had it with me . Shawn's class was near ours so we walked together . "that was pretty funny" Janelle laughed and Shawny smiled . "no it wasn't " I said laughing . "than why are you laughing?" Shawn laughed . "I'm not " I said trying to remain serious . "sure" Shawn laughed than we reached me and Janelle's class . "Shawny can I borrow your phone " I smiled sweetly . "why...?" he asked . "cause i want to text Jack . " he laughed "no you can't borrow my phone " "you suck" I rolled my eyes and walked into class . "I love you babes" Shawn said laughing as he walked away" I just laughed and me and Janelle sat down . we had a seating chart so i couldn't sit with Janelle . I sat down next to my friend Jose . he's the best but I only talk to him in class . "hey" I said as I sat down . "sup" he said and went on his phone . just than the bell rang and I saw Shawn running . I laughed to myself . Ms. Baker walked in and told us to get our homework out . I grabbed my backpack and looked for it but realized I didn't do it . I put my back pack back on my desk and sat back . Jose laughed "you didn't do it ?" "No I said annoyed . "loserrrr" he laughed again and I just hit his arm . "I'm just kidding man chill alright" he said and I laughed . "I mean I guess" he rolled his eyes . I started to get my phone but stopped and realized I didn't have it . man today's just going perfect huh ? I asked my self and rolled
my eyes .

---skipping to after school---
the bell just rang and school ended . I jumped up from my seat when the bell rang cause I was falling asleep . I hated that class I had social studies and the teacher put me to sleep all the time . Shawn laughed at me when he saw my face . I was so confused than I realized school was over . "finally" I said as I got up from my seat && we walked out of the door . "you looked so congers when the bell rang " Shawn laughed "I know man I was falling asleep " I replied smiling . "i know she almost noticed you " Shawn said "hey cmon we gotta go to the office to get my phone" I sighed cause honestly I just wanted to go home & sleep . Shawn rolled his eyes "nah man imma leave you " "no you can't I don't wanna walk by myself !" I yelled . "shut up your so loud" Shawn laughed "I'm just kidding" "I know" I smiled . we walked to the office && got my phone . "ugh finally I get to go home " I said as we started walking home . "ugh I know school sucks" I laughed && Shawn did too .

--- at Averys house ---
we walked up to my house && there was a car sitting in the drive way to my house . "who's car is that ?" Shawn asked . I shrugged "probably one of Rebecca's friends " I said not caring . we both walked in && put our stuff away . I walked in the kitchen && saw Rebecca talking to my social worker Ms . Turner . i got really scared . "um what's going on ? " I asked && Shawn stood behind me . "Oh hi Avery Ms Turner came here to talk to you about something is Ryder out of school yet ?" Rebecca asked . "no not yet . what happened ?" I asked Ms T . "should we wait for Ryder ?" she asked . "no I'll tell him later but what ?" I asked really scared now . I felt Shawn put his arms around me . I knew he was scared too . "Um well , your dad got custody of you && Ryder so you two will have to live with him now ." she said quietly . my jaw dropped . did she seriously just say that I have to live with my real dad ? oh my god . "what ?" Shawn asked just as shocked as I felt  . "are you serious ? I mean how did he get custody ? like what if we don't want to live with him ?" I asked . "I'm sorry to say but I am serious and you will have to live with him even if you don't want to ." she replied . "when do we have to leave ?" I asked hoping I could finish the school year with Shawn at my school . next week " "will I be able to go to the same school ?" I asked worried . "yes you will finish at your school but I don't know if you will attend the same school next year ." she replied . I nodded my head && walked to my room . Shawn followed . "I have to go my mom just texted me but I'm so sorry ." Shawn said pulling me into a big hug . "thanks Shawn ." I said hugging him back . "I love you I'll come back later okay ?" "okay love you too" he hugged me again than walked out . Ryder was gonna come home in an hour . I don't know how I'm going to tell him ? I thought as I laid down on my bed . I mean my dad just let my mom abuse us && didn't do anything to help . I hate him for that . I closed my eyes . I don't want to live with him I thought as I fell asleep .
