London
My Alarm Clock Blared Into My Ears, And It Isn't Even Monday. It's Saturday. I Sat Up On My Bed, And Stretched. I Turned Off My Clock, And Let Out A Sigh. I Got Out Of My Bed And Got Ready For My Audition.
***
I Peeked Out Of My Room To Make Sure Nobody Was Awake. It's Only Five In The Morning, I'm Supposed To Get There At Six. I Tip-Toed My Way Toward My Mom's Room, And Grabbed Her Keys. Mom And Dad Were Sound Asleep, And I Wanted It To Stay That Way.
I Crept Back Out Into The Hallway, And Out Of The Door Successfully. I Got Into Mom's Car, And Let Out A Breath.
I Reached Into My Pocket, And Tried To Grab My Phone.
"Damn!" I Shouted.
I Totally Forgot That Dad Took My Phone. I Need The Directions To The Place. I Guess I Have To Drive Around Until I Find It. I Have To Hurry Up, And Get Back Before They Realize I'm Gone.
Zero
I Sat Back In My Chair, And Breathed Out A Mouthful Of Smoke. I Knocked Off The Ashes With My Middle Finger. A Hand Landed On My Shoulder, And Manny Was Standing There.
I Stood Up, And Looked At Him. Manny Grinned, And Pulled Out His Blunt. Awaiting For My Lighter. I Quickly Lit His Blunt, And Sat Back Down.
"Thanks."
I Gave Him A Dismissive Wave, And Pulled From My Blunt. Manny Sat Next To Me, And Pulled.
"Are You Still Mad?" He Asked.
I Turned My Head Towards Him. I Scrunched My Face Up.
"Mad? Nigga, I'm Furious. You Left Me Just Because Things Got Tough. You Ain't A Real Friend Dude." I Admitted.
Manny's Face Softened.
"I Was A Boy Back Then. I'm A Man Now---"
"I Don't Care. You Telling Me This Like I Give A Shit About You. Get Out Of My Face, I Have Auditions Today And I Have To Be In The Right Headspace. You're Not Helping." I Interrupted.
Manny Stood Up, Squeezed His Blunt Onto The Ashtray, And Walked Away. I Looked Down At His Damaged Blunt. I Looked Around To Make Sure Nobody Was Looking At Me.
I Grabbed The Blunt, And Scraped The Unused Weed And Placed It Into My Plastic Bag I Keep In My Pocket. I Placed The Rest Into The Ashtray, And Stood Up, To Help With The Decorations.
Flashback
Me And Manny Were Running Towards Our Old Manager's House. We Burst Through The Front Door, And Held Our Guns Up. I Pointed Mine At His Kids, And Manny Held His Toward Our Ex-Manager.
"Please, Don't." He Pleaded.
"Why Aren't You Talking Big To Us Like You Were When Were In Your Office? You Ain't Hard Now. You're A Phony!" Manny Spat.
His Kids Began To Scream, And I Shouted At Them To Shut Up.
"You Can Do Whatever You Want To Do To Me, But Spare My Kids." Ex-Manager Stated.
"Get It Over With Already." I Demanded.
Manny Stood There, And Didn't Do Anything. I Yelled At Him To Speed The Process Up, But He Was Just Making Excuses. I Pointed My Gun Toward The Manager Instead And The Kids Ran Toward Him.
