London
After A Long Day Of Waiting For The Night To Roll In, I Decided To Let My Mom Shop For Some New Clothes For Me. I Want Zero To Look At Me When He First Laid His Eyes On Me At That Audition. Once I Got Out Of The Shower My New Clothes Were Laying On The Bed. I Changed Into Them, And Mom Walked In Seconds Later. It Was So Difficult To Stand Up, I Had To Hold Onto Everything.
"Here." She Was Holding A Cane. I Chuckled A Bit, And Grabbed It. "This Should Help."
"Thank You." I Said As I Hugged Her.
"I'm Going To Take You Down To The Court House, And Be There For Support. You Should've Brought Zero Home So We Could Meet Him Properly. I Wanted To Meet The Nice Boy You Fell In Love With. It's A Lot Of Ways You Could've Fell Right Back In Good Graces With Your Father..." Mom Looked Down.
I Leaned Against The Cane, And Tilted My Head Toward Her. I Narrowed My Eyes.
"Are You And Dad Fighting Again?" I Asked.
"Yeah, We're. Don't Worry About Us, I'm Sure We're Going To Be Fine." She Placed Her Hand On My Shoulder. "Let's Get You To Your Man."
I Chuckled.
Zero
On My Way Over To The Courtroom Several Memories Hit Me. It Felt Like My Whole Life Is Flashing Before My Eyes Because This Is A Huge Moment For Me. I Don't Want To Be Behind Bars All My Life. Especially Since I Met London And I See A Future With Her. The Police Officer Demanded Me To Sit Down And I Did. I Looked To My Left And My Lawyer Was Sitting There Giving Me A Side Glance.
"Zero." He Greeted.
"Gideon."
He Heaved Out A Breath.
"This Is Really Getting Old Zero. I Mean God, You're What? Twenty Years Old And You Don't Know How To Handle Yourself?" Gideon Hissed.
"This Wasn't My Fault. I'm Actually The Good Guy Here, And Look Where It Got Me."
"It's Never Your Fault Zero. Get Your Shit Together." Gideon Retorted.
I Folded My Hands Together Tightly. All Of This Back And Fourth Isn't Going To Get Us Anywhere. I Did A Quick Glance Around The Courtroom.
Where The Hell Is London?
"All Rise For Judge Mabel." One Officer Said.
I Stood Up, And The Judge Walked Out. She Sat Down, And Requested Us To Do The Same. Judge Mabel Looked At Me, And Shook Her Head In Disappointment.
"Dominick Pierce. It Seems Like You're Always In Something Ever Since You Were A Kid. I'd Expected More From You Since Your Mother Was In And Out Of Here Once...Or Twice." Judge Mabel Sneered.
I Stood Up And Banged My Fist Into The Table. The Two Officers Placed Their Hands On Their Guns.
"With All Due Respect, Don't Talk About My Mother." I Demanded. I Felt Gideon Tugging On My Jumpsuit. The Judge Chuckled Lightly To Herself, And I Sat Down. "Now Continue."
"Anyway, You're Charged With Murder. Please Give Me Some Lame Excuse On Why I Shouldn't Send You Away For The Rest Of Your Foolish Life."
I Took A Deep Breath, And Scanned Around The Room One Last Time.
"Because I've Changed. I'm Not That Boy Who Comes In And Out Of Court Because Of His Mistakes. I'm A Man Now. Whatever I Quote On Quote Did, I'll Eventually Own Up To It." I Explained.
