AT JACK'S HOUSE
Monday, March 13th
"Wake up Lauren! Come on get up get up get up!" Jack said annoyingly as he burst through the door. I had been staying with Jack since I got out of the hospital on Saturday.
"No" I returned yawning.
"Yes! Come on rise and shine!" he said pulling up my blinds, letting a beam of sunshine practically blind me.
"No go back to sleep." I ordered.
"Get up Ducky!" he said jumping on my bed.
"Alright fine I'll get up. But I don't like you." I said grabbing my crutches
"Yeah yeah I know."
We walked into the kitchen where Mrs. Brewer, Jacks mom, was standing drinking her coffee.
"Good morning Mrs. Brewer." I greeted.
"Morning, Lauren."
"Morning mom." Jack said kissing her on the cheek.
I walked towards the counter and sat down on a bar stool. Jack opened the refrigerator and tossed me an apple and kept one for him.
"So are we still on for our thing tonight?" Jack asked me.
"Yeah of course." I returned.
"What thing?" Jacks mom asked.
"We're hanging out with the guys tonight." Jack explained
"Guys?"
"Jerry, Eddie, Kim, and Milton." I told her.
"Oh. You'll be back by 9:00 right?" She asked.
"Yes mom." He replied.
"Well you better go get ready. We need to leave for school in an hour." Jack said. And I ran to go get ready.
